Raam Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Hi, So I'm new to SWTOR... let's get that out of the way first. I have a level 23 Jugg, 13 Assassin, 12 BH Merc and recently started an Imperial Agent... which I really really like. I just don't know didly about them. But looking at their specialization, I find Sniper the most interesting.. I just don't know what spec to go for - So I'm hoping for some help here. I want my char to proceed with the following focus: Primary PvE, with PvP being secondary Primary good at single-target DPS, with AoE being secondary.. (Love the whole drone & grenade stuff - but I really wanna be able to take out elite's and such in Heroics and flashpoints) Can anyone supply me with some good guidance, and a good levelling build and end-build? Thanks =)
NoTomorrow Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 go MarksManship, invest your points there, as you will level you will get better at it. Leave engineering and lethality for later.
mattycutts Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 As Notomorrow said. Marksman by far is the best for levelling. To add for later info: Marksman - Single target dps primary Engineering - more aoe based Lethality - Dot based For pve aspects i have little experience but in tight tough fights u really wouldnt want the engineering aoe or lethality parts that are aoe since youll be cc'ing alot and burning down 1 or 2 targets while rest are cc'ed and marksman is the king for them siturations without loseing dps. For pvp ALL 3 specs are amazing to play and i love them all so much fun to play, i would recommend you dabble in all 3 later on just so u can get a feel for how amazing this class is in any spec. Plus always good to learn how to kill snipers specced different to you Good luck and hope u find as much fun in sniper as i do
NoTomorrow Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 The moment when you will experience raining death from the upper catwalks on huttball with a sniper, you will change forever
BaineOs Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 As you said primarily pve then I'd say all specs are just as good as each other. Marksman is the easiest but for me that's the mistake everyone makes. They play marksman to 50 (now 55) then switch specs and think they're going to rule. That's not the way it works, each spec has it's own specific playstyle and the best way to learn that playstyle is whilst leveling. So my best advice is to try each of them and see which one you like the best. Just keep in mind that marksman appears to be the mainstream spec but that's only one version of our class. Try them all out and get familiar with all trees before that final ding because ti'll pay dividends.
