Im back after a really long break. Last time i played , the legacy system just came out and it was just names :) I subscribed and got some coins. What should i focus on buying/upgrading first when it comes to cartel coins. Should i just buy the new companion to help me along with leveling? Upgrade legacy things.. if so which ones? My highest lvl character is 31 bounty hunter. I seen you can purchace the new companion with credits, how long does it take to get 1million credits ? Any other info you can give me that will help.. been a long time . Thanks

Are you now back as a sub?. If so In terms of the Cartel market account wide Inventory especially and cargo hold unlocks are useful. Power and Crit chance cystals which you can add to your collections are also useful., adpative armour sets you like the look of aswell. Other than that most stuff is fluff on the CM if you are a sub. The packs are very random.

If your are preferred/f2p it is useful to keep your coins back a bit for the operation unlocks or if you are keen on crafting unlocking a extra crew skill.;)

The new companion is useful, but mostly for entertainment, especially not to BHs. 31 to 50 is not such a long way.

That said, to buy it for creds, you need legacy level 40. This is something only a select core group of players has achieved. You'll hit, IDK, Legacy 12, maybe 15, by leveling one character up to 55. Legacy 40 is multiple 55's territory.

So the only way you're getting Treek is with coins or with *a lot* of ingame credits, like several million, from someone who paid coins for the unlock.

Most things on the CM can be bought with credits on GTN.

What is the best? I think the Rocket Boots, if they got rid of that "going places basic bundle". Ideally you want to have your unlocks account wide, and Rocket Boots is one.

Most things can be purchased on the GTN "secondary" market for in game credits so there's really tons of ways you can go.

First off, I'd probably get some of the Account Wide Legacy unlocks like the Rocket Boots because they are just really nice QoL.

You can also purchase a few packs and/or a hypercrate, wait out the timer and just sell them on the GTN yourself for quite a few credits about 250,000 to 300,000 a pack on my server at least. That adds up pretty quick.

That being said things that you won't generally or can't find on the GTN:

Some of the full CM sets are hard to find not because they don't sell but because most folks don't bother with the entire set. Clandestine Armor or the Scalene for example. Single pieces like the Rascal's Toothpick on the other hand can be found mostly, I think because they're just one piece.

Collections Unlocks. You can collect a set of armor or an item but in order to unlock it for your account so that all of our alts can have a copy you have to use CC's. For that reason, you might want to save some of them aside in order to unlock those cool things that you're getting.

Bear in mind however that collection sets that come from packs are really just cheaper to purchase from the GTN for credits because it could take quite a few packs and tons of junk before you get the item you're looking for and, even then, it still may not drop for you.

So, in general, you probably want to go with whatever's cheaper given the Cartel Pack to Credit "exchange rate" and, that really depends on the item in question to be honest. Treek for example is far cheaper just picking up for the CC's directly but other pieces like the Primordial Blaster Rifle for example are just so cheap off the GTN that it's just not worth your while to get anywhere else.

Hope that helps. :)

yes I am a subscriber. so what is special about rocket boots? also if I were to drop down to preferred status again... what would I need to buy from store to best help me along. I don't care about boosts, or flashpoint/PvP passes. I'm not planning on dropping subscription but its good to keep in mind. Edited by lockmasterg

Rocket boots are like a speeder that you can use anywhere, including inside buildings or ships where speeders are verboten. It's technically fluff, but for those who have it, it's one of those fluff pieces that as the other commenter said really improves Quality of Life.

Soooo...things I think are cool to buy:

- Cargo Bay (Account) - This adds an extra Cargo Bay for every toon you have-for now and forevermore. Really useful if you have multiple alts. Up to 4 of these are useful.

- Inventory Slot (Account) - Ditto, except for Inventory rows. I think up to 5 of these are useful.

- Cathar race - account wide by default, if you ever want to roll a Cathar

- [Alien race] - Legacy-wide only (so, limited to the server the object is purchased and redeemed on), if you don't have a certain Alien race unlocked in your Legacy and you think you might want to roll a character of that race in a character class that it doesn't come with natively. Also applicable if you dropped to Preferred, because the available races for classes becomes very limited (usually two available races, Human and either Cyborg or Zabrak).

Things you would probably want to buy if you drop down to Preferred:

- Artifact Equipment Authorization (Account) - lets you use Artifact-quality (Purple) gear and mods

- Crew Skill (Account) - Lets you use that third crew skill spot (only if you're a crafter)

You might also want Hide Head Slot, Color Match, Show Legacy Name, Companion Customization, etc., which are all fluff perks that Premium subscribers get that Free ones don't (but I don't know which ones Preferred get by default and what they don't).

If you're active on the GTN, you might also want to get extra GTN slots (Account) because there's a restriction on simultaneous auctions on Preferred accounts.
