Elfa Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Our main tank is in full Red Scalene, so he's out and I know we lost like 4 DPS due to many having pieces down. So many things to do and so few nights to do them on.
Ansalem Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 ummm no because if someone tried to cop out like that in my guild we wouldnt stand for it. They can use other pieces of gear and rip the mods out for a night maybe even augment new pieces to use for the raid. Someone that runs operations often should know that you do what it takes to overcome an issue. Time to step up and rip mods

Time to step up and rip mods Sorry but unlike some guilds we don't abuse our members and make them waste credits because we think the guild is more important than it's members. We're here to have fun and enjoy things, we aren't a "world's first" competition guild. After all, the issue will be fixed tomorrow and my question was more aimed at the smaller fun guilds, not the spastic teen and twenty year old filled nightmare mode runners willing to run small children over to make operation start time.

Are those comments necessary? Give me break. I see you have some resentment against progression raiders but get over it. And no, we have plenty of resources (read: credits) to get our way through it.
abokado Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 We didn't cancel our raid tonight but I didn't go because I refused to pay a lot of money just because of a bug.
dscount Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 We didn't cancel our raid tonight but I didn't go because I refused to pay a lot of money just because of a bug. I Agree... Sorry I'm not going to pay 600k-700k for a BW Screw up. (Remove all Mod/Aug > put into new gear > Remove again to put back) - That's IF you have a set with MK-9's already setup. I doubt our team is raiding tonight after this. I'm not going to be available for NiM content, but could do some HM's on an ALT instead. Might be a good night to level another ALT. (Sad, just sad)

So many things to do and so few nights to do them on. Sounds like a major cop out. There are so many ways around it. You say you have so many things to do so why not have your players switch out to another set of armor.
paowee Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) i spent 400k today to continue raiding. not what i'd wanted but oh well Edited August 22, 2013 by paowee
pchefkent Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 if my guild would be willing to front me the credits then sure i would do a rip. but if no then they can go howl. for me to change a whole set of gear get aug kits and rip and transfer back after the fix would be almost 1 mill.
shadowflit Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 (edited) Nope, just picked a character with not too many broken pieces and swapped the gear out. Edited August 22, 2013 by shadowflit

So many things to do and so few nights to do them on. SM's Don't cry and just use campaign/dreadguard gear or swap mods over HM's When 2.0 hitted live loads of guilds were able to finish Scum and TfB HM in dreadguard-gear (yes, the old lv50 gear). I don't consider myself or my guild a real progressionguild. We are still busy with the DG on NiM. I was however perfectly able to tank TfB on HM in my old 50 gear (needed to fill in adhoc for someone else). NiM Trickier. But if you are doing NiM, my guess is that you may except some level of professionalisme towards this issue. If money is a problem just make a deal with the officers about using guildbankfunds.
Gyronamics Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 One player dropped out due to wearing that neon armour and another had RL issue but they were subbed and we continued.
KeyboardNinja Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 My cotank had to replace his entire armor set. We gave him credits from the guild bank and gratis augment kits to do so though. Represented about a 10 minute delay.
mikebevo Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 No, went Tuesday night, but my commitment is to my team and I don't care whose fault it is I would find away to not let that team down. So had it happened to me, I would have swapped over to different gear. Had it happened to someone in our group, I would have given them kits and/or credit if they couldn't afford it and so would our guild.
AlixMV Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 I didn't--we fortunately had our Op Tuesday night, before the bug--but I felt really bad for those raid groups that were impacted by it. I'm probably in the group everyone is calling 'selfish'--I would've opted out of my main (who is in 100% Gree armor) if I'd been hit by this. I think it's terribly cost ineffective to spend several 100K to rip mods out of the gear, to purchase Augmentation Kits, to then pony up the 36K per kit to add it to new gear that will be for one night only, which doesn't include the several 100K credits to rip them out a second time to return it to the original gear, because I'm assuming I'm like most people who are in that gear because they like how it looks and want to stay in it. Then again, I'm not in a huge mega Guild that keeps a ton of Augmentation Kits and/or millions of credits lying around to blow on one night's inconvenience.
Synavix Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 My one casual raid group cancelled their raid because we had several members affected by this and already had one person gone for the week. We would have had enough trouble finding a replacement that was Nightmare progression ready, and it just didn't seem worth it to make people spend what little credits they had time to make when there was no guarantee we'd have had a very successful raid anyway. My more progressed "semi hardcore" group would have gone regardless (and I would have loaned out credits to anyone who needed), but luckily it was fixed before our raid day. I'm glad they fixed it as quickly as they did, but to say the bug was "insignificant" is a bit harsh. There are many casual guilds that simply don't have the resources to keep multiple sets of gear or re-augment all of their raiders' sets for one day of raiding. For a more serious guild, wasn't a big deal.
Octom Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 So what was the point of this thread? To cry about something you knew was getting fixed after only one night? To grab a useless total?
