Reno_Tarshil Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Doing a contract takes 10-20 mins to complete and are super easy to complete. Can't to get on all my characters this week and rack up the rep rewards for later, so I can get that Mandalorian Helmet reward!
Basreia Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I agree! It is a very nice content addition and the fact it will span a week and is recurring is even better Very much fun
Gluo Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 i'm sorry i found it very dispointing....30 peeps waiting for slow spawns for very little...i'm usely one to support swtor stuff but got to say this was not well planned....it just sucked...need to be m ore like gree week...10k of peeps trying to complete handful of dailies
errant_knight Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I haven't had any trouble with competition. You just have to be sensible. Go to low level planets in the morning and later in the evening. Go to the higher level planets at peak times. Don't go the the heart of the spawn area, but look around the edges. The spawn area is generally larger than people think it is, and there are usually some spawns tucked away in less obvious spots. And so what if you have to work just a little? It's not like it's hard.

LadyKohastFel Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 They are significantly increasing the spawns So everyone will have a shot and not have to camp The patch in maintenance They need to extend the event for a couple more days to make up for it effectively being broken for the first couple of days.
Reno_Tarshil Posted August 16, 2013 Author Posted August 16, 2013 They need to extend the event for a couple more days to make up for it effectively being broken for the first couple of days. But it wasn't broken. People just couldn't learn to branch out more and missed out on lots of the hidden shadys.
MidichIorian Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 But it wasn't broken. People just couldn't learn to branch out more and missed out on lots of the hidden shadys. That's because people don't use their heads. When the event came online we probably had 95 % starting on the starter planet. I went to Voss, spent 2 minutes looking for shady contacts and was on my way. I eventually worked my way through alts and ended up on Hutta (I didnt have to go to Hutta but I wanted to work on the different achivements), 200 people and I was greeted by a very hostile general chat. Saved it for later and worked on my czerka rep instead. Came back at a different hour and the place was more or less empty, took 5 minutes to complete. So what do people expect, to show up at prime time and have the entire planet filled with shady contact NPC'es or that everyone els just steps aside? Is this the same people who do their grossery shopping around 6 PM, when everyone is off work and thinking the same thing, and then complain about having to stand in line and that the store doesnt have enough cashiers?
DaShuk Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 People could try grouping together for the quests. That is really the main issue with SWTOR, everyone wants to solo everything. Grouping would speed things up for all involved. Though in all honesty I agree that the spawn rates and amount of Shady characters needs to be increased across the board.
BigRedBeard Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 They are significantly increasing the spawns So everyone will have a shot and not have to camp The patch in maintenance I'm glad they are patching this. I still think the whole standing around waiting for spawns was a stupid idea. This isn't fun. I waited about an hour with a team of two other friends and we got one or two of the items we needed. I had a similar experience in real life earlier that day. I renewed my driver's license at the DMV.... Just make the suspicious characters not disappear after other players click them. Spawn camping NPCs shouldn't be the event. Just let us get the items to go hunt the actual bounty.
StreaMRoLLeR Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) it would be MUCH better if event NOT take a 30 day break and then occur 5 rinse repeat..... BAD BAD BAD Edited August 16, 2013 by StreaMRoLLeR
chuixupu Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 it would be MUCH better if event NOT take a 30 day break and then occur 5 rinse repeat..... BAD BAD BAD Are you sure that's how it works? Anyway, I really liked that there was a good amount of voice work in this event. That's been missing largely from most of the others.
OpeningToEndgame Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I'm just glad I can hit Friendly after it ends. I want that awesome Kung Lao hat!
MidichIorian Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 (edited) I've been working hard toward the achivement titles and assuming that I get the right targets when I get home from work in an hour I will only have to kill some unlocked kingpins after reset to have killed and captured them all. I probably have enough rep tokens saved to fill the weeks up until the next bounty week. Edited August 17, 2013 by MidichIorian
Asavrede Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 The only thing I would have liked is that for the missions on different planets to be at least a LITTLE different. They're all just copy paste of the same thing, so it hardly matters which planet you choose (apart from unlocking all the different bounty achievements, but even that can be done on only a few planets).
Arkanzues Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Agreed! I'm loving it, I've been literally jumping on every toon I can (high or low) just to do it, it's literally the only thing I've done all week lol. They did an awesome job.
jedip_enguin Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Personally I was hoping for something a little more involved, and the rep rewards for the most part are just reskins. The carbine pistol is freaking sweet though, and I'm pretty sure my BH/Gunslinger will eventually rock a set of them after the next event if I can stand to part with the million credits required (seriously, friendly rep cant be that friendly at those prices ). It's a country mile better than the Chevin event though.
avatarearth Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 i enjoy doing these, they can be quite challenging and you can get a lot of rep and xp from them, and if you don't want to look for a kingpin group people will pay pretty good money for the paper that allows you to get one.
WestXv Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I'm in it for getting some awesome stuff for my BH and snatching that HK customization eventually.
AshenK Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 SWG did Bounty Hunting was so much more fun. You could do NPC missions that gave you some great loot along with Player Bounty Hunting and fighting Jedi. Really it was just one of the best games ever and allowed for so much freedom. It's was much more fun then a random week every other month to do this.

I'll never understand why people won't stop ******** about how SWG did this better or that better so all I can say is SHUT UP ABOUT IT I don't give a rats *** if swg do anything at all since its a dead game. Dead get it DEAD!

Dead get it DEAD! Yeah... but that is what they want, attention. There is of course and emulator out there but here he is. Lol. Ironic.. the best game in the world is out there but this dude is here playing forum PvP. What a game it must be. Now back to the topic at hand. I'm enjoying the BH event. Already maxed out and got the great BH gear. But now they added that nice speeder. If they keep adding stuff as rewards I will keep going.
LordExozone Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 I don't like the humongous amount of limitations, it feels incredibly artificially bottlenecked. 1 bounty per day per character, kingpins on a 1 week lockout per character, a weekly 10.000 or so reputation cap... Due to the limitations this event heavily punishes players without alts.

Dead get it DEAD! Lets see how you feel when you have a game that you love and it's changed two times from the game everyone wanted into a mess and then they shut down that game for a WoW clone that can only hold 75k subs. Ours had 250k and it was starting to grow.
