Bounty Contracts Event - The Breakdown (How It Works)

Ok, so here's what I've gathered so far ...

1.) You can only complete 1 contract per day ... which isn't much. FIRST, click on the person floating in carbonite near the entrance to the new Cartel Bazaar. There will be a little "cut scene." After that, you'll be directed downstairs to the BBA area, located in the new Cartel Bazaar. Speak to the designated NPC (which you'll be told after the cut scene). After that, you pick up a contract at a terminal, located in front of the BBA Relations stage.

2.) You need to do it 5 days in a row (1 contract per day) to unlock the "Kingpin" contract.

3.) According to the math (not my own, but someone else who did it), if you do this on 8 toons, you can unlock Legacy status in a week. Mind you, that is 8 toons @ 1 bounty per day for 5 days straight, plus the Kingpin contracts for each one of those 8 toons.

4.) From start to finish, it's a lot of traveling around, and sometimes your contacts attack you with back up - not hard fights at all, sort of a joke. First, once you arrive on the planet your bounty is located, you will have to meet the person who placed the bounty. Simple conversation and you're on your way to gain info from 5 contacts, otherwise known as "Shady Characters".

5.) Your contacts are called "shady characters" and you need to gain information from 5 of them (sometimes they won't all give you info). They will either comply, attack you (in which you can kill them and take the information), or they will just tell you to piss off. The good news is that all your shady contacts are in one area, just sort of hanging about and labeled "Shady Character". Look for them to just be leaning against walls ... looking ... shady. There are 2 items available at 800 credits (droid vendor where you first pick up your bounty) to assist you in your tasks - a.) interrogation probe b.) friendly drink. These are used to help you extract the info from your contacts (shady characters).

6.) You have the option to capture or kill - to capture, you need to freeze in carbonite (provided) when the bounty is 10% or less in health, however from experience (for whatever reason), as soon as the bounty is under 10% its health drop rate is on warp speed - so be careful with attacks because you'll end up killing the bounty before you've blinked.

7.) Return to the person who placed the bounty, then back to fleet to where picked up the bounty. Drop it off at the terminal next to where you first selected your bounty and you're all done for the day on that toon.

Hope this helped a bit. Good Luck

Even with 12 toons it would still take you 6 weeks as the weekly cap is 12,000 and you need 70,000 to hit Legend. Complete the contracts on 8 toons for a week but then you have to wait 5 more weeks to spend those tokens to get to Legend reputation.

Where is the new cartel bazaar? If my toons are still pretty low level (but above the 15+ lower cutoff) will the missions be completable?

Thanks much for any information provided.

The Cartel Bazaar is location to the northern part of the republic fleet (Not to sure if its the same on the imps side), and yes you should be able to solo the missions for Bounty contracts as i managed just fine on my lvl 25 commando :D

haven't done the event yet. Is it the same as the tauntaun fawns wherein everyone gets to click on the shady character and not a clickfest?

Thanks.

Heh, I think Terko was referring to my math (Hey Terko).

Anyway, here's the breakdown of rep:

1 henchmen contract = 1 green rep item, 1 blue rep item, and a completed contract.

UNLOCKING a kingpin contract (costs 5 completed contracts) gives a purple rep item and means that contract is also available each day on the character that unlocked it.

Completing a kingping contract gets you a blue rep token and a completed contract.

You can only do one kingping contract per day.

So

Day 1 through 4 - only henchmen contracts. 4 green and 4 blue rep items.

Day 5 - henchmen contract, unlock a kingpin contract, do that kingping contract. 1 green, 2 blue, 1 purple

Day 6 - henchmen and kingpin contract. 1 green and 2 blue

Day 7 - henchman and kingpin contract, then unlock a SECOND kingping contract (can't run it, but the unlock gives a purple rep item). 1 green, 2 blue, 1 purple.

Total rep items for 1 character, in 1 week, if they do everything possible = 7 green, 10 blue, and 2 purple.

Total rep = 12177 (for a subscriber in a +10% guild).

You'd actually be able to reach legend in 1 week with 6 characters, as long as they all did every quest possible every day. The key is being able to get that second kingping unlock on the last day, which requires you to do the henchmen all 7 days and the kingping on days 5, 6, and 7.

Edit: awwwww, just found out that in live the henchmen only give a blue, and the kingping unlocks only give a blue.

That means that this event is only giving blue rept tokens (how in the world????). Also means the max guaranteed rep items per week is 12, and you would need to do everything with 8 characters to get enough to reach legend in 1 week.

How is there something in game which only gives blue rep items?

I just knowtuced that the rewards are not all be given correctly. It said I received 2 basic commendations but my total was 48 before turn in and after turn in it was still 48. So I checked on 3 more characters and each time the basic commendations where not given even tho it said it was.

He meant Legend status, which is the second upgrade iirc and is the needed rank to get legacy gear. You can actually get over 13k rep if you use the rep items in the correct order. Use the greens to get as close to 12k as possible and then you would preferably pop a purple, but in this case we can only pop a blue. So it'll be closer to 12,600'ish.

Legend is the highest rank. None, Outsider, Newcomer, Friend, Hero, Champion, Legend is the order.

I was going by Dulfy's guide which shows that even with maxing out overcap (13.5k instead of 12k) it would still take 6 weeks to hit Legend.

http://dulfy.net/2013/07/28/swtor-bounty-contact-week-event-overview/

As you point out though with the fact the event has no purples we're now maxed at 12,672 rep per week. Regardless it will still take 6 weeks for anyone playing TOR to hit Legend rank :w_cool:

Doesn't take five days to unlock a Kingpin. I unlocked one yesterday. Your information is erroneous. Edited by PLynkes
