FourPawnBenoni Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Title says all. I have no issues in any other part of the game; including Illum when there was quite a few PVP players lumped into a certain area during the gree event. However, this new daily area is just horrible and I have a good rig too.

Hockaday Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Yeah, the basement level is really bad. The game's engine is deteriorating it seems. Might be looking at the next EQ2 here.

The shared area is almost unplayable for me when there's people, but i got some crappy parts (CPU), looking to buy a new one in the coming month, but i got some people telling me that they lag (when they have beastly specs). Although it's probably not to the extend that i lag.. i dip into the 10 frame area... Edited August 12, 2013 by Virus_Bot
oaceen Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Yeah, the basement level is really bad. The game's engine is deteriorating it seems. Nothing is deteriorating, they just didn't design the area very well. Probably could also be some leaks and extra artifacts around, they probably need to go back and do some cleanup.

At least on the Harbinger server, the second instance has at most half the number of people that the first instance has. Switching makes a huge difference.
ZETA_SCORPII Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 I just avoid the "what's yours is mine" mission because it's just a giant cluster **** and not worth my time to stress out over it. I'll try switching instances but that level is very piss poor imo, I still love the game though!

I definitely think that ^ Was that not one of the main reasons that Ilum was removed as a large PVP planet and changed to what we have now? Just too many people in one area and it was causing all kinds of disaster to the game engine and thus game play suffered. Makes me wonder why they went back to a design with smaller space but lots of people. It's causing some of the same problems Ilum had. It just makes no sense.
Fleurdelis Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Last night on Harbinger it wasn't just the czerka area. It was fleet and my own ship also. Something is going on. Im isially arouny 57 ms but was at 155 and up last night.
oaceen Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 what's even more confusing is they said that they lowered the number of people per instance. i'm still getting 50-60 people on my side alone. i think the highest number i saw was 58, so that's what? 120 people max? wasn't that the case before the change too, or did they actually more than that before?
chuixupu Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Did they say they made that change live already or did they say it was something that was going to be patched in next maintenance?
FourPawnBenoni Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) Well it is unfortunate because the concept is great to actually give some good opportunities for open world. If you have to lower the number of people then it kind of takes away from a lot of the fun. My rig is a pretty solid gaming laptop; granted it's not the top of line but I don't think it should have to be. The game should be designed to suit the most players and while mine is not top of the line it is a lot better than many of my friends that play. nVIDIA GeForce GTX 570M 192bit w/1.5GB GDDR5 Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM (2.2~3.1GHz) w/6M L3 Cache - 4 Cores - 8 Threads 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3/1333 Dual Channel Memory Samsung 830 Series 128GB SATA III Solid State Drive Edited August 12, 2013 by FourPawnBenoni
oaceen Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Did they say they made that change live already or did they say it was something that was going to be patched in next maintenance? here's the post Agreed with the sentiment that it has been a bit too hectic in there this week. During this morning's maintenance we made a behind the scenes configuration change to reduce the number of players per instance here, to help make things a little better until the novelty and rush dies down a bit.which to me, says that it was already pushed out. i suppose we could see tomorrow if it didn't actually get pushed out last week though.
Sobur Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 They should do what GW2 does with resource nodes , everyone has their own clickable mission objectives , no waiting for respawns. That's why this daily zone is a headache , running around for 30 minutes or so waiting for respawns. Get people out quicker , nothing wrong with that.
