Clifffeh Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Ok. I joined JC server because of population, location, and didn't want to get ganked. I'm heavy on PvP and was leveling both a gunslinger and a sage. I have an issue...people don't seem to do very well in the Warzones. I am now fearful of what lays ahead at max level. I am not a phenomenal player, but i like to think i am "decent" I find myself, however, consistently doing much better than my peers. I may pull 350+k in a game and the next person on my team is hardly breaking the 100k. The Median was around 60-70k. I am also usually on top for objectives as well! It isn't fun to win / lose when that is the state of PvP on this server while leveling up. Is it much better at max level? Should i begin looking at PoT5 or something? I really dislike that the population, generally speaking, play so poorly that i must make a new character on another server in the hopes of finding a pocket of PvP players. Is this the case or am i simply over reacting due to a string of bad pugs? Any insight or suggestions would be much appreciated.
KamujinKravshera Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 If you're serious about PvP, you should transfer to Pot5. There are many terrible players there too, but the server is a magnet for good players. Good damage in a WZ is 1000DPS+ or in a long warzone over 1 million. Good healing is 1500HPS+.
psybernetic Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Pot5 has the best ranked teams in the game, as well as several helpful players who'll help you get where you need to be.
Yestreen Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Pot5 has the best ranked teams in the game, as well as several helpful players who'll help you get where you need to be. Bastion > POT5. Just ask anybody in <Rock Bottom> They couldn't handle losing on Baston all the time so they moved back to POT5 where the teams aren't as good. Also, talk to anybody who has done ranked on both servers. They all say Bastion ranked scene has better teams.
KhalDrogoe Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Yeah JC in regs is kind've bad. Most people don't know how to play their character. But on the plus side, we have Ranked queueing at least 2-3 nights a week. Sunday's being GvG and the other 2 being kick-ball, which we grab anyone that wants to get involved in rateds. So being able to enter into rateds is a lot friendlier than on PvP servers such as bastion and Jung Ma. On those nights generally there will be little to no good players in regular warzones, as we're all doing ranked warzones. Visit our server forums for more information.

If your goal is for looking for competitive ranked games then POT5/ Bastion seems the way to go. Mainly for how many teams queue. Reg wz pugs are normally terrible regardless of where you go unless you can group with with friends. I have a toon on both POT5 and JC and reg warzones in my experience was worse on POT5. I am sure that's just my personal experience and shouldn't be taken as the rule for everyone, however, it is indication to show no matter where you go if only doing regs, you're going to have to deal with scrubs.... a lot.
FourPawnBenoni Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Bastion > POT5. Just ask anybody in <Rock Bottom> They couldn't handle losing on Baston all the time so they moved back to POT5 where the teams aren't as good. Where they now lose even more frequently. I've done RWZ on both; POT5 is significantly better.

I've had to roll again on this server as us Europeans can't do a transfer and it has been painful to grind the dull quests over again. PvP is good and bad. Far too many Imp vs Imp for my liking (bracket 30-54) and there are lots of clueless still, which amazes me. But its the same everywhere. At least here, and not on ToFN, I can understand the language being spoken.
MidichIorian Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Normal warzones are a lottery and crap on most servers, it's more a matter of what faction you play on on a specific server. POT5 is suffering from the worst quitter epidemic in the game, or atleast out of the servers I've played on (tofn,pot5, bastion, shadowlands, tre)
AngusFTW Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 POT5 is suffering from the worst quitter epidemic in the game, or atleast out of the servers I've played on (tofn) God help them
Clifffeh Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 Thanks for the input guys. It seems that it takes much more effort to enjoy PvP than i expected.

Even then I would wait 2-3 weeks to be decently geared. The lowbie on any server is a joke, its just for fun and practice not for objectives. Its where the bad premades go who cant win at 55. That being said, I thought I was going to transfer for good to POT5 but the ranked scene on Shadowlands has not only picked up a lot,, the matches are very competitive and the teams are getting better. Other night we got 3 different teams in 5 matches. I'm not suggesting you come to SL, I'm suggesting you hit 55 and check out the reg and ranked scene, then decide if Pot 5 or Bastion is for you. I would say if your on a ranked team that is not getting enough pops, or is dominating your opponents that's when a transfer is for you. Otherwise it will be more of the same. Hiltingp Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 (edited) Pot5 has the best ranked teams in the game, as well as several helpful players who'll help you get where you need to be. Not that I'd like to dissapoint you, but TOFN has best players and best teams in the game. If you are US tho then y, go to POT. Edited August 14, 2013 by Hiltingp

POT5 is full of number chasers, especially Imp side. I have been in so many matches with the supposed best Imp guilds on POT5 where east in Novare is taken by a scoundrel or shadow and the rest of the team couldn't care less because of the big fight at mid. Bastion actually has a healthy dose of people who, and I can't believe it, actually use their brains.
TheCourier- Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Jedi Covenant lost almost all of its strong PVPers when server merges were released.
