AngusFTW Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 So in the past 2 days i've had this happen on 3 seperate occasions when we make a comeback on points near the end of the wz but when it gets to the end it counts the point from 2nd last round instead of last round (where we are behind) then we lose the wz even though at the end we where quite clearly ahead on points. Is this a bug or is there something i'm missing?
DarthMaulUK Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Probably a bug Bioware introduced just to keep pissing off the long suffering pvp'ers of this game
JP_Legatus Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 (edited) I've seen weird behavior by the scoreboard in hypergate many times. It was a common occurance, and I noticed it always happened in the games where my team is getting facerolled and I ninja their pylon 2-4 times in the same game to try to save it. I've never really come across an explanation for it. On one occassion we were behind about 150, I ninja'd their pylon from the guard and we are somewhere in the +10-30 range. Pylon explodes with us owning both as planned, the usual round start begins and we both get our own pylons. At that exact moment (start of the round) the other team is up by about 150 points again, maybe more. If anyone died, it was in the explosion between rounds and obviously neither team could run orbs, so where did the points come from? Even if the multiplier is up in the x10 range we'd have to have died 20 times(ish) to create that kind of score jump and there simply isn't even enough time between doors for that to happen. I've recorded it on multiple occassions on my stream but I don't think I ever highlighted them, and they may or may not exist anymore (I deleted many older videos). In any case though I've confirmed the situation with guildies I was playing with more than once, usually because I'm asking them if they saw it too just to make sure I'm not going crazy. AngusFTW Posted August 11, 2013 Author Posted August 11, 2013 (edited) Well the bug or "mechanic" i'm talking about we are visibly ahead at the end of the game after catching up with kills/orbs (or after being 2 capped etc) but the game reads the scores from the 2nd last round and not the last round we just played where we managed to take over so we lose. Its weird and its happened to me 3 times in the past day never before that.. hm Edited August 11, 2013 by AngusFTW
abhaxus Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 A commonly misunderstood mechanic in this warzone is that orbs count immediately to your score, while kills only count when the pylons reset. Thus, a smart team can win that is down in kills if the final round starts in the mid 500s. You just run a few orbs and you will tick 600 before the end of the round, even if you are behind.

The magic mark for an "orb win" in Hypergate (like the 1/2 way point in Civil War) seems to be when there is a gap of no more than 120 points. After that, the opponent just can't run enough orbs to catch you if you have the lead.
