Player character Banter

So anyone who has played a Bioware game know that your companion characters will often have brief and often humorous conversations with each other, that happens in a natural way when players are exploring the world.

My idea is that, because the player characters have voice over in this game, it could be fun to have banter that triggers between player characters. For example there would be a unique exchange between the bounty hunter and the sith warrior ect.

It wouldn't be anything beyond a flavor addition, but banter has always been part of Bioware games. Just imagine everyone waiting for a player to enter scum and villainy, and the smuggler starts flirting with the consular! These exchanges would be appropriately rare, so as to maintain their humor when they do occur.

It could clash pretty hard with roll-playing though. If someone's got a pretty solid idea about their character and then all of a sudden he/she comes out with some one-liner that completely clashes with how they always behave in conversations etc it'd feel wrong.

That's true, however there wouldn't be anything that would compromise your moral compass. I don't think the Imperial Agent being suave and the Bounty Hunter being abrasiveness and blunt are things that are player selected, they embody those characteristics simply by their tone of voice in most conversations.
