Question: Assassin vs juggernaut health pool

So I play an assassin tank and grouped up with a friend the other day. He's 2 or 3 lvls higher than myself and he noticed than my health pool was a bit higher than his so he had some concerns about what he might be doing wrong.

I kind of figured that it was just a balancing thing because he wears heavy armor and I wear light...

So anyone know if this difference in the two is normal or is he doing something wrong?

Thanks

You are in the leveling process, I would recomend not comparing yourself to any other class until you hit cap level.

But, If you really want to. You should have more endurance than he does.

Its gear.

You have more up to date gear with more end heavy stats.

for instance, a lvl 22 Jugg in lvl 15 green gear will be worse stat-wise than a lvl 19 assassin in lvl 17 purple/blue mod gear or even blue(prototype) dropped gear.

Everything in this game is gear based if you are comparing stats.

The real question is why do people think super high endurance is all a tank needs? Its not about the health, its about mitigation stats. I don't need super high health if my shield does its job. I don't understand why people see 36K health on a tank and go "oooo this guy is awesome!", cause really he could be a turd bag of a tank player.

Well I never said he was saying anything like "oooo this guy is awesome!"....just that he was curious why his health was so much lower when he was 2 or 3 lvls higher.

I recently leveled an Operative healer and a Sorc dps and found myself having higher HPs than other chars around my level and higher most of the time (while primary stats still higher than endurance). But that's just because I tend to mod up every two levels (as much as the comms allow it). Using the mods you can get for Planetary Commendations or the gear you can buy for WZ comms on Dromund Kaas yields much better stats than what green gear you pick up while questing can ever give you. (Didn't go for any Datacrons btw.)

Long story short, you had probably better gear and subsequently higher endurance than him :)

Agreed. With my Jedi Guardian I have [ Defense > Shield/Absorb > Endurance ] stacked in that order. It serves me well as a tank. I may not have a huge health pool, but my healer loves me. :D
