Does Doc ever become less, well... skeevy?

So, I've just hit Balmorra on my Guardian, and run into Doc. This is my first Knight, and I was thinking of trying the romance since I skipped that on my Trooper. Unfortunately now that I've met Doc I'm already having substantial doubts about this guy... We've just met and he's... well... kinda striking me as a bit scummy; and not in a good way.

Is he always like this, or is this just kind of a poor first impression?

Disclaimer: I'm not a Doc fan (at least for my knight, I'd probably like him for my smuggler). I know there's some who read this particular forum, though, so don't just take my word for it.

Yes and no. He's not as blatantly skeevy after awhile, and reveals a bit more depth about his motivations, but he basically is what he is.

Companion/romance spoilers:

He's afraid of committing, his relationship history's a bit sketchy, but he's not quite as bad as he first appears (I'm pretty sure he eventually stops calling you 'Gorgeous', but I might be forgetting). Overall, I wasn't too pleased with him/his romance, though, I just didn't buy someone who's that much of a ladies man/that big a commitment phobe would change so quickly, and I didn't buy that my knight would fall for him either. I was also really frustrated that I basically had no flirt options and then Doc shows up and suddenly I've got multiple "2 of 3 answers are flirts", so that didn't help.

Your mileage will vary

Huh. I guess I'll muck around with him a bit and see if I warm up to him... but I have to admit I'm reaaaaally wishing I could romance Kira as a female character at this point. Maybe this is just going to have to be one of those "Wait till they release more romancable companions down the line" things.

Thanks for the info!

He can be funny-skeevy, from a certain point of view. The skeevy factor doesn't go down until

he suddenly about-faces and decides to settle down,

which I found deeply unconvincing.

Yeah, this is the one guy a female JK can get romantically involved with. Fun fun fun, just make sure to run an STD test.

Lol, Kira was right - "This guy is a walking hormone." *facepalm* It seems like every companion female characters can romance either turns me off or in the case of poor Aric Jorgan, fits better in the friend zone than as a romantic interest.

Really wish we had an Alistair from Dragon Age: Origins equivalent in this game. Ah well. I'll live.
