Ayelinna
Done your daily flashpoint? Locked out from your weekly raid? Can't be bothered to do dailies? Done your daily PvP mission? Sitting in a group finder queue? Why not play a game of Pazaak? Simply talk to the NPC on Nar Shaddaa who will teach you how to play, he will give you a free playing set. "Anyone want to play Pazaak?", you call in the general chat! "I will" *Right click player, select Play Pazaak* *Player has invited you to a game of Pazaak* *Player has accepted your Pazaak invitation* "What shall we say, 50k bet?" "Nah, lets do 100k, the maximum bet" "Sure" *Player has won a game of Pazaak against Player!* *You receive 100,000 credits* *Player has disconnected, you receive 100,000 credits* (you took the risk to lose 100k credits, you also took the risk to disconnect during a game, opponent wins if you disconnect or forfeit the game) During your questing or seeker droiding or whatever, you will be able to get your own personal pazaak collection which you can use when you play with other players. The +/- cards would be the rarest. Cards would be unbound and can be traded with other players. Such a simple minigame with hours of entertainment, that you can play with friends and also the enemy. We really need this in game Bioware. Edited July 5, 2013 by Ayelinna
Jaing
Dah! All posts like this do are get hopes up. Yes it would be wonderful to have this in TOR. The argument that it is gambling can't even be used because the devs have already implemented gambling via the cartel market. Unless there is some way for them to make money off of this via the cartel market, I don't think it will happen. Seems like a majority of the development in TOR is now for the Cartel Market, which makes sense since a majority of the income for this game comes from the cartel market. You can always sell good Pazaak cards in the Cartel Market. You can even implement a gambling system for these cards (like the dye one). I actually find this idea perversely intriguing. Basically, you first gamble with real money so that you can gamble with virtual money
Nemmar
I do wonder. It cant be that hard to implement can it? I'm not sure how useful it would be though.
NeroTethras
I'd rather have them add Pazaak along with a few other games at a casino in Nar Shadaa. Maybe you can build your deck up by earning tokens or something? This could be a load of fun, I hope Bioware goes somewhere with it.

arunav
/signed To avoid betting, please just implement a comm system. Even a way to play an NPC without real betting would be fine with me, especially in the cantinas, though player vs. player would be ideal. This could be a DLC even if necessary, to make up for the cost of implementing it. It was a great part of the KOTOR games, and TOR really needs a mini-game, or even a couple. WZs were a good hold-over last year, but for veteran players, I think those spending the most on the CM, there needs to be more to do in-game. If it's technically unfeasible for some reason, please just post that. Many fans just don't understand why Pazaak wasn't included in the game to begin with... gorstram
Alas, it'll never happen because this is now a F2P game which means mediocre content releases that build on the framework of the game as it currently exists. New things like Pazaak, 3D space combat, guild capital ships, etc require development that they don't have the cash for. We want champagne ideas, but EA has BW on a beer pocket book. RedFox
I think Pazaak should ONLY be able to be played in Cantina (vs npc or other players).
Ayelinna
I think Pazaak should ONLY be able to be played in Cantina (vs npc or other players). Thats a good suggestion, but then again the cantinas might be packed full of players and be really laggy

Because there is no guarantee enough people will pay real money for such things to make it worth BWEA's while, financially, to develop them. Every player who says "I'd pay big bucks for pazaak!" is just absolutely certain everyone else will, too. For me, I wouldn't bother with it even if it were free, much less would I pay CC, even 1, for it.
TheBBP
I am thankful that someone FINALLY had the nerve to ask for this. I don't think the devs had a clue that we want it.
Tachenko_Yuri
Cool story... Too bad for the part that involves even more gambling, most likely the " special cards " being only CM or a legacy requirement which can be over-ridden with CCs ( which would then GREATLY upset a few folks around here ) , or even worse, in Packs ( a gamble in the gamble , but yeah, datacubes and credits booms already cover that, so why not ) on the other side, still wondering about the interactibile sabaac table at the beginning of the esseles... I'm of the opinion that every time a demand thread for Pazaak pops (which is about every week), it resets the project tasks for actually implementing Pazaak. So at this pace.. it's never going to get patched in.

sandisrd
Greetings, I've remember when I attend to London community canteen last year, I had a chance to ask lead designer Damion Schubert a question regarding exactly this (mini game) matter, and his answer was ''This is of course something we are looking in to it, and we definitely want to implement it in near future'', so I have a high hopes for it!... Best regards!. Edited July 13, 2013 by sandisrd

Darth_Moonshadow
They'll probably add Pazaak when they can figure out a way to keep people from exploiting it or making hacking programs and card counters.

Did they stop including warzones in the game because of exploits or speed hacks? I'm not sure this reasoning for not having Pazaak yet makes sense. I hope they add it soon. Anyway, /signed. Most of the warzone exploits were discovered after the warzones were put in, and only because cheating beta testers hoped that Bioware never caught on, which they did and fixed after weeks of players reporting. I'd like to think they'd be a little more careful with another player-on-player feature. Edited July 13, 2013 by Darth_Moonshadow
