Knockerz
i remember a real long time ago the devs said it would be cool to make an iphone app that would let u send companions on missions. where is it?? They said it would be cool. They never said they were working on one or if one was planned at all.
dscount
Yes. . That would be cool, but I recall reading something about not opening up the API to allow that. Same with other 3rd Party applications. I Might be wrong, but I keep recalling something I read about that.
Callaron
I would vastly prefer some kind of web interface - similar to what Neverwinter did. Then again... probably not worth it since every exploiter will use it automate crafting, and the usual nerfs will follow. =/
Slightrider
An Android app would be better (Since iPhonys are outdated 6 months before they are released)
Ocho-Quatro
http://www.askajedi.com/2012/01/05/companion-remote-desktop-the-anathema-to-your-social-life/ No idea about iOS... and this requires that your PC be on, and logged into the game to work. Since nothing is automated, and you are actually interacting with the interface to perform each action, I can't imagine it's a breach of the EULA/ToS to use a method like this, since it's not macro'ing or bot'ing... It's simply using a secondary device to act as your input/interface to the game client. I'd love to use this app, but since I don't have a situation where I could leave my PC on all the time (I have children who play on my PCs during the day) but I am sure it would work for a lot of people. GatorAndy
If you go to the developer's website, it says they discontinued the app. Not sure how long ago, since that story was from over a year ago anyway.
Ocho-Quatro
That would explain why I couldn't find it in the Play store after I posted that response. I am sure that any remote connection app on a smartphone would handle this just fine, it would just be a bandwidth eater.
Ocho-Quatro
http://www.amazon.com/Hypercane-Studios-Companion-Remote-Desktop/dp/B0071BSLMA it appears to still be available, just not in the Play store. There was some issue with using copyrighted images in the Play store listing, and it was removed.
ImpactHound
Or the tradeskills could be revamped to not be a passive "log in once an hour to roll for materials" action. It's similar but shorter than other korean MMO mechanics; one of my buddies timed it to be a passive 1 hour to make a single piece of high level cloth in Vindictus, and you had to actually be logged in, in the crafting menu, letting the bar fill while you let the crafting animation process. BRUTAL.
Skodan
so does this allow you to send out characters' companions out that arent logged in? if im playing on character 1, could i then send out character 2-10's companions on crew skill missions without logging off character 1?
