K_osss
So my question is related specifically to PvP but I'm interested in general player experiences too. This is to the more experienced 1v1 specialist Jedi Knights out there. I'm a Sentinel pvp player but mostly team warzones so don't have much experience in the 1v1 tournament style play. I'm curious if you all have delved into more unorthodox specs like this http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#501bIbRzZZfbbkrGkRfb.3. The idea being you get a big sweep in Shii-jo switch over to Juyo and get some burns up and zen for some healing. I've experimented with it but honestly not enough to form a full opinion of it. So far I know that I suck at playing it. I'm trying to figure out the best time to switch stances and working on optimum focus management. Have any of you come up with a "hybrid" style 1v1 spec you'd be interested to discuss? Do you think they're viable? What situation or environment do you think they're best suited for if any? I'd like to keep this constructive and not get too deep in theorycraft if possible. I'm sure flamers will flame though, i've got faith there are some good players in the community that might chime in.

yourlordmoses
I had a combat focus hybrid for a while. I used the combat survivability and passive skills and pumped focus it had some potential but i am not the biggest fan of experimenting all day. My build was 0/10/30 no switching forms though. It wasn't easy to play tbough

It wasn't easy to play tbough I understand not experimenting all day. I have limited time and my hybrid experimentation is a work in progress. I assume your 10/30 build was pre 2.0 or as you were leveling up?
yourlordmoses
It was both pre 2.0 and leveling. 2.0 tore the build a new one so i decided to stop and go full combat
K_osss
I'm a bit surprised that not many people have tried something like this or have something to add.
yourlordmoses
Its not a frequent thing cuz its easy to screw up especially on a class that is already sensitive as sentinel is I'm sure there are good hybrids for different uses. If I had felt up to the struggle my combat focus hybrid could have been able to work again but I like straight combat more as right now
ShadowTech
The problem with doing hybrids as a sent is that our skill trees are actually really well designed, i.e. you get the most out of a tree when you spec completely into that tree and get the capstone ability. Once you get to a certain point in the skill tree it doesn't make sense to start down another tree because so many of your abilities hinge on other talents from the same tree. The stances are also very tree dependent; Juyo just doesn't do anything without being specced into the watchman tree. Same goes for Shi-cho and the Focus tree. You can't even get the Ataru from without spending significant points in Combat. This is all coming from someone who has mained as a sent from early access and briefly tried to form a hybrid spec. The parses were several hundred DPS points behind a full spec.
K_osss
I totally agree from a PvE perspective. Max dps seekers should definitely go all the way to the top. My thoughts were coming from a PvP perspective when rotations and max dps are never achieved. Max Force Sweeps can be achieved with 28 points in focus, and ones that do 15% less than max at 22 points. From a pvp perspective this is intriguing because it creates the possibility of opening a fight with high burst damage but some of the abilities from other trees like self heals from the watchman tree. Would it parse well? No, I agree with you, it would parse in the toilet. But it might be interesting for 1v1's.
