SunakoValentine
So I just became a Subscriber today, I went to the Store and bought the Chiss. I tried to make one but it said I don't have it. I thought I needed a Legacy name so I made one. But I still can't use Chiss. Please tell me I didn't waste my points but how do I unlock it? The character I unlocked it on is a level 11 Inquisitor Sorcerer on Ebon Hawk. Any help please?
Adric_the_Red
Did your "claim" the item from the store after you bought it, and then use it?

The character I unlocked it on is a level 11 Inquisitor Sorcerer on Ebon Hawk. What does that mean? You cant just make a legacy name... either you have one or you dont... if your only character is that level 11, chances are you don't have one yet (only get it after you complete chapter 1). race unlocks only kick in after you get your legacy name . That has changed. You can have a legacy at lv 10 now I believe. You no longer have to complete Chapter
cabled
ah interesting... ok, one of those unnoticed changes in 1.5. I stand corrected. OP, are you trying to retroactively change species or something?
LingBa
I thought race unlocks require legacy level 10 if bought from Cartel Market
MSchuyler
As I understand it, unlocking a race means you can create a NEW character using that race. If you are already a human at Level X, "unlocking" a race does not mean you can change that human to a chiss.
Nmyownworld
As I understand it, unlocking a race means you can create a NEW character using that race. If you are already a human at Level X, "unlocking" a race does not mean you can change that human to a chiss. I think the only way to change an existing character's species is by using an Appearance Designer kiosk. There is an Appearance Designer kiosk on Imperial (and Republic) Fleet. You can change your Human Sorcerer to Chiss there. I think the kiosks are on Coruscant, and Dromund Kaas, too, but I'm not certain. I just checked the Appearance Designer kiosk on Imperial Fleet, using my Human Sith Sorcerer. If I wanted to change my Sorcerer from Human to Chiss, I would be charged for a Chiss unlock. Since you have already purchased a Chiss unlock, you should be able to change your character's species at no additional cost, unless you want to change more than just the species. Additional costs may be levied with a few of the Chiss hair and skin color options, and changing things such as body type, for example. Did you waste your Cartel Coins purchasing a Chiss unlock? No, because you want a Chiss Sorcerer now. For subscribers, the Chiss species is immediately available for only Bounty Hunters, and Imperial Agents. I don't know if leveling a Chiss Bounty Hunter, or Imperial Agent, to level 50 would unlock the Chiss species for creating a Sorcerer. I've only hit level 50 with a Human species character, so far. I don't know if unlocking a species through leveling to 50 results in the same benefits as purchasing a CM species unlock. Edited to add: Or, vice versa. I unlocked a +100 Presence on all characters after I leveled a Human character to 50. I don't know if you get the same sort of thing from buying a CM species unlock. Species unlocking dates back to 1.2, where the only options were to spend 1 million credits or level to 50.
PLynkes
Yeah, get to 50 with a species and it unlocks for free, and the outcome is exactly the same as if you bought the unlock. You can then use that species for all classes in both factions. That's how I got my Rattataki Jedi Consular (she's the daughter of my Inquisitor, not sure how she ended up a Jedi, but I'll think of something).
