AlyoshaCephas
I understand the reasoning behind locking armoring modifications to specific types of armor - i.e., an armoring modification pulled from a belt can't be put on a chestpiece - but I discovered earlier today that the planetary comm Makeb armoring modifications become locked to whatever armor slot they are initially placed in. Considering they are purchased as flexible it would make more sense for them to remain so and avoid wasting ten comms when they are, ahem, accidentally placed in the wrong piece initially. It's possible that the mechanics of the lock are based simply on prototype level armoring and the Makeb mods fall into that category, but if possible for this to be changed it would be fitting in my opinion. The mechanics are actually tied to level 51+ ARTIFACT (purple color) level armorings and barrels/hilts. Taken from the Rise of the Hutt Cartel and Game Update 2.0: Scum and Villainy patch notes: •Extracted level 51+ Armoring modifications of Artifact Quality and higher now become bound to the type of gear the mod was extracted from (Chest, Legs, Head, etc). You don't have the limitation with prototype (blue color) armorings and barrels/hilts (for example: you can remove the armorings/barrels/hilts from the level 53 armor/weapons that drop in the level 55 HM flashpoints and apply it wherever you want). I actually do agree with you on this. But, it must be said, you are given a warning when applying the armoring that it will become bound. Once it becomes bound to the item, that's it: it's Artifact quality and level 51+ so it becomes bound to the slot. Unfortunate, from a certain point of view, but those are the rules.
