Two-Piece War Leader Set Bonus For Tank Jugg

Recommended Posts

Hey all. Relatively new tank-spec Jugg here. I'm stacking Endurance, Defense and Shield Chance. My playstyle is full defense/tanking/guarding. Of course I have the 2-piece Vindicator set bonus for the eight percent heal on Intercede. But I am on the fence about using the 2-Piece War Leader set bonus. It increases the stun of Force Choke by 1 second but it also increases resolve by that much more. Since my playstyle uses CCs to control bad guys going after my healer, I'm wondering if the extra second of stun is worth the increase resolve. Since I got the set bonus, I feel like Force Choke is *reducing* my control abilities by white barring the bad guys. Once white-barred, I can't stun, mezz or force throw the enemy. The Vindicator 4-piece sounds more attractive for more damage but also less resolve. Thoughts on this?

So provided I read everything correctly on resolve:

Full Resolve: 1000

Resolve per tick/second of Force Choke: 200

Goes from 600 resolve to 800 resolve.

Either way, any 4 second stun or 4+ second mez is gonna cap resolve. So if you like the extra second of them standing there taking damage, its fine. Essentially, 2 seconds of stun or 4 seconds of mez is gonna cap them out after regular force choke, so it really doesn't matter.

Kinda the concept of the bonus is to be able to force choke ravage people. Its been tempting to just get the 4 pc set and get the damage bonus, but I'm not exactly made of coms to waste so maybe a few months down the line (if BC gets its act together, or I'll just stay on my Sent lolrolling imps).

Thanks for doing the math. Is the result the same if the second CC move is Force Push? Because you can get extra control from the knockdown plus following up with a resolve-free root from your leap.

The Capt breaks it down really well 8th post down in this thread:

Knockdowns count as hard stun. Keep in mind, full resolve from a stun still = stunned, but you just can't be further stunned while whitebarred after that stun wears off or is broken. So yea, you can force push, leap, then choke hold them down. Been doing it for ages. Personally, I like to slow and do an interrupt in between to screw them a bit longer.

Read the thread, but the short answer is: More than 1000 resolve = extra immune time.
