Kurugi
Got the urge to play again. Haven't played since before RotHC. Think I'm gonna roll with either a knight or a warrior (haven't decided which faction I want to play yet). I always seem to have the most fun with them. Love their abilities, leaping is great fun especially in huttball. They have the most active resource system imo which makes it fun. My dilemma here isn't so much which class is "better" or asking what each offers, I already know that. I've leveled a Jugg to 50 previously and have leveled a Sent to the 30s at some point or another. My main concern is experience. I'm worried I'm going to get bored because I've already experienced a good portion of the Knight's story and all of the Warrior's, and getting through it again might be a bit boring, even if I skip dialogue. I've leveled a Guardian up to around 40 before and a Sent to the low 30s, so I've done the story up to Alderaan twice. On my Jugg I've done all of it, though I don't remember it as clearly oddly enough, and I'm kinda interested in playing it again but going LS this time instead of DS. As far as gameplay is concerned, I prefer single saber style to dual wielding, but I do find the sent/mara's gameplay very face paced and fun. I have a harder time playing a sent though since wielding 2 lightsabers just seems too aggressive for a Jedi. I like having taunts in PvP though, partially for the utility but mostly because it's a few extra easy medals as well. Having the option to fill more than one role is also nice but I'm more keen to play DPS no matter which AC I pick. Also in terms of faction I do much prefer the Sith animations/armor to the Jedi. Force Scream and Choke are just so much more satisfying than the Jedi equivalents to me. Also, can't stand how Guardians hold their lightsabers, but that's just a minor personal nit-pick. All in all I'm really just wanting feedback on what you would do if you were in my position, coming back to the game and having experience with each class already but starting from scratch. Just not sure if I should go with the animation and style preferences of the Sith again even though I've experienced the full story or go with the Jedi to see how that winds up. Either way it's the same class in the end technically, but in the long run I tell myself I shouldn't worry about the story since in the end the gameplay and the class are what's gonna stick around. Sorry for rambling. Thanks for any advice.
Gondolindhrim
Sounds like you'll have the most fun sticking to your Jugg and rolling a LS Mara as your alt. Edited July 1, 2013 by Gondolindhrim
thecoffeecup
I don't understand what's so strange about a jedi dual-wielding. It's not too aggressive. The jedi order may be peaceful in a sense, but they still train combat specialists. It's perfectly jedi-like to train to strive to excel in combat. In fact, it's even required before you can become a jedi. One of the greatest warriors (and eventually one of the most ruthless too) was the jedi Revan. If I understand my Star Wars correctly, that is one of the eternal struggles of the jedi - remaining true to the code while constantly fighting battles to the death across the galaxy. Anyway, my point is, dual-wielding jedi make sense.
Kurugi
Sounds like you'll have the most fun sticking to your Jugg and rolling a LS Mara as your alt. Don't have the Jugg anymore. Said I was starting from scratch. And the snippet about dual wielding Jedi was just a personal feeling. Doesn't really stop me from playing one. Gondolindhrim
Right, I thought you still had the Jugg but wanted to start over with a new toon. I'd have to say Light Side Marauder then, since you say you'd like to see the LS SW story and like the Sentinel/Marauder gameplay.
