Aim vs Endurance

This might be a simple question, but I'm new to MMOs. WHich is more important/useful for the shield spec vanguard, aim or endurance? And why? Thanks.

If you're strictly talking PvE tanking, then it depends on a couple of things. Aim until you don't have aggro issues, then defensive stats. Then you want to get enough HP's so that you have a large enough pool to not die too quickly and then you generally want to concentrate on damage mitigation (shield chance, absorption etc...).

Healers generally like to heal low steady consistent damage rather than large spikes (mitigation over avoidance).

You want "enough" of both. Enough Aim means you're not missing so much that you lose aggro. Enough Endurance means you're not dying. If you have "enough" of both, worry about alternative stats like crit chance.

Note that improving your armor values, shield chance and shield absorption will likely improve your survivability more than a straight End increase.

What would be more needed as a dps vanguard in PvE?

For normal PvE (not raids) it would be in Aim > Crit > Power > Surge.

Accuracy isn't really an issue for non-raid level fights, heroics might prove that wrong. Some builds rely on Crits to activate certain skill benefits, Surge increases Critical damage. Power directly increases bonus damage and healing at a better conversion rate then Aim but doesn't give any extra Crit.
