Anyone else having problems with Concussive Round not working?

I think I first noticed this a couple of weeks ago in operations, when I was asked to CC a target with Concussive Round, I fired it, it went on cooldown, and yet nothing happened to the mob. At first I thought that it was a fluke or that someone had immediately broken it, but after having the same problem week after week, twice tonight alone and with nobody touching the mob at all, I'm really starting to wonder. We were combat logging tonight and I had a look at it afterwards. When CR worked as normal, the combat log looked like this:

Note how the lines about applying the "asleep" effect and modifying threat are missing and the mobs just start shooting me.

 

Anyone know what's up with that?

Can't say I noticed this happening, but last S&V run there were some hiccups with CCs when there's usually none... Since that's what you were doing in the parse I assume you know that some mobs are simply immune to cc, but if that's not the problem then it's difficult to say.

 

While unlikely, it IS possible that somebody broke CC... Unfortunately we can't see that from the log (nor, apparently, who was the target for the concussive round)

 

The fact that mobs start to hit you is just normal if you've done the CC before somebody else pulled.

With changes to accuracy it is possible to miss a CC. Seeing as you got trauma probef

I'll assume you are a healer so your accuracy is not 100%, and you missed :( it happens occasionally, u ain't the only one

The log would still show a "resist" entry if that were the case.

I'm a gunnery mando and I can tell this is also happening to me, not so often, but it happens.

 

Per example... in that heroic 2 on Ilum, when I call out the siths and proceed to cc the elite, when I switch the targets to one of the strongs right after without firing a single shot on the cc'ed elite or using aoe next to him, his cc is broken.

 

I also noticed that right after the round is shot, the char shakes the cannon slightly like he's shivering with cold and if I change my target and start firing during this "bug" it automatically breaks the cc.

I hoped it would go without saying that I wasn't just trying to CC a mob that was immune. :)

 

The miss/resist thing was other people's first suggestion too, but as has also been said here, I still would expect to see something about that in the combat log. As it is, there is just no feedback whatsoever on why nothing is happening.

 

Not sure the Imperial Heroic 2 on Ilum is a good example though as I seem to recall that at least one of the summoned mobs there has the ability to dispel (and might thus undo any CC on its partner).

Yeah, there's no reason Concussive Round (CR) should be resisted. When you open up the abilities tab in-game, all abilities are broken down into four categories: Ranged/Melee (white damage), Force/Tech (yellow damage), Active and Passive. Active and Passive abilities don't pull from any kind of accuracy, so they're immune to resist, and CR is classified as an "Active" ability.

 

So, either one of two things is happening with CR, someone (either player or companion) put a DoT on the target (healing comps have a tendency to do this if you're targeting the mob when combat starts) and the DoT woke up the mob or there's a glitch/bug associated with the ability. If it's only happening in raids, I would recommend contacting customer support and reporting it as a bug. Hopefully they give you an email address you can mail your combat logs to so the CS/Dev guru's can take a look at it. (I got an email address from CS before to report a bug they needed screenshots from, dont remember the address)

Here is one that happened last night during our S&V run. Notice the Unpredictable ability, and the fact that after CR was fired, there was no talk of it missing or even putting the target to sleep, which you can do on the Dustclaw trash.

For reasons that I will not say here...I think it is something bugged with the Hardened Medtech Droid. Don't worry though, I am fairly certain it will be fixed with the release of the S&V Nightmare Mode patch ;)

Yesterday while running through TFB, we noticed that one of the mobs (Gold Droid in the second Data Core Trash Room) was defying all CC's. He had a Sage Lift, Commando CR, and Sentinel Droid Stun, with debuffs shown, and was still attacking.

 

I still noticed it a few other times last night, and decided to put someone else in my CC slot so that we didn't risk the possibility of it happening at the wrong time.
