ripamorame Posted April 12, 2013 Share Posted April 12, 2013 I am playing arsenal in pvp at 55 and i am getting dropped in a scoundrels stun and assassins opener and a pyro vanguards stun i am just wondering is pyro merc as good as arsenals or is it for arsenal or go home? Even if EVERY skill crits it's impossible for an operative to kill you within the period that you're stunned from hidden strike and debilitate, I play an operative and the best I can ever hope for is to get an enemy down to 25% within that time period but usually it's around 50% and then they are left with full resolve. The only reason operatives are able to kill mercs is because most merc players are bad and will panic after the opener instead of realising that even if they are at 30% hp they can still win a damage race against a full hp operative that has blown their burst. Knock back, power surge, 2x heal (if needed), shield, stun and button mash - if you have net then it's not even a fair fight at all. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And if stealthing up and waiting for backstab and explosive probe to come back off cool down an enemy could have healed twice by then or ran towards their team. Operatives rely on stupid enemies to get kills, whether that is running around solo without full hp or panicking as soon as they see their health go down. Yinican Posted April 16, 2013 Share Posted April 16, 2013 It is all about playing smart. You don't stand still, you move. With the 2.0 changes mercs can survive far longer than they could before 2.0. Against a sniper or a gunslinger, use line of sight. Is there a pillar? go behind that pillar. If a sin or shadown takes you by surprise, use stun, pop Hydrolic (sp) Override, shields, move away. While you do that, shot dart missile, electro net, heatseekers, burn him down. And don't forget you have Kolto missile now. Spam heals, use warzone medpack, adrenal. You will be surprised that some ppl think that Merc is still a free kill. They are not. With electro net you can kite your attacker and burn him down. Choffware Posted April 16, 2013 Share Posted April 16, 2013 I am finding Mercs to be pretty hard to kill now especially if they know when to run. If you try to fight someone that has gotten the drop on you at close range you are probably going to die. You have to punt, HO and get the heck out of there... you try to fight someone you are going to die. If you have stunned by a stealther you should be pounding the jetboost and get ready to run...
