CaldaRaric Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 (edited) I hope so, because I just got five of them in a Contraband Pack and put them on the GTN for a good amount. Edited April 7, 2013 by CaldaRaric
-Holmes Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 I hope so, because I just got five of them in a Contraband Pack and put them on the GTN for a good amount. Well I have about 40 stacked up, and nobody really wants them right now.
Bastila-chan Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Yes, people will still need black hole gear and dread guard for leveling, it will be difficult to level on makeb in lvl 49 greens/blues and considering human nature, not everybody will want to grind hardmode flashpoints and ev/kp sm for it. So yeah, crafters will still have to craft bh/dg. I believe the prices of stabs will go up again.
Falensawino Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Completely useless. Obsolete. Advance to Industrial Age. Sell them all asap
Wainamoinen Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Completely useless. Obsolete. Advance to Industrial Age. Sell them all asap No no no, everyone should hoard them like the most retentive miser. They definitely shouldn't take their last chance to sell them for a half-decent price and flood the GTN. Not until all mine have sold, anyway.
MitchPB Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 They'll still be usefull but wont sell for 100's of thousands anymore:(
DarthScruffy Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 If you have alts that need 61/63 gear, hold on to them, there won't be the steady flow post 2.0. You won't be able to farm WH gear. If that doesn't apply to you, to quote the Red Hot Chili Peppers with the "it" referring to the molecular stabilizer: "How come everybody wanna keep it like the Kaiser? Give it away, give it away, give it away now!"
ChewyYui Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Im so glad I sold all mine a few days before ROTHC release date came out. The price almost halved on my server
Falensawino Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) Im so glad I sold all mine a few days before ROTHC release date came out. The price almost halved on my server It's no fun unless you actually report the prices. On my server, Molecular Stabilizers went for 100,000 (or 100k) that was the standard price for the longest time. Some time between the gree events and double exp weekends. The default price started going down, settled on 70k, then 65k, then 60k. One or two weeks before 2.0 the price dropped below 50k for the first time, current price is around 40k Right now, there are 1 and a half pages of stabs selling for 41,500; every stab after those are 48k and higher Edited April 9, 2013 by Falensawino
porfinicle Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 (edited) I used to get the majority of my stabs from the space mission crafting boxes. Does anyone know if these boxes will have the molecular stabs still or the new rare crafting materials? Edited April 9, 2013 by porfinicle

Does anyone know if these boxes will have the molecular stabs still or the new rare crafting materials? They'll continue to have the stabilizers as those are the components needed in crafting the grade 7 ship parts.
CharlieBrown Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 There was a single page of 28k stabilizers this morning before I went to work. I imagine they'll finally settle around 15k, but no promises.

I can see paying like 100k for an earpiece or something (thats 4 stabilizers, green mats and radioactive pastes) for leveling gear or something like that, but filling gear with 3 pieces of BH/DG crafted gear is never going to be something you overspend for.

Does that mean they'll be cheap soon? I'm pretty sure I need them for crafting superdroid gear, so if yes that'll be pretty good.
Khevar Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Does that mean they'll be cheap soon? I'm pretty sure I need them for crafting superdroid gear, so if yes that'll be pretty good. Unfortunately, players are reporting that molecs aren't coming from RE of PvP / Campaign / Dread Guard gear. We knew this would happen with Arkanian gear, but it's sad this was applied to lower level gear as well. This means that they are likely to be much more rare than they were before 2.0 dropped. Even though they won't be in demand (which will drive prices down), the fact that they'll be in very short supply is likely to keep them annoyingly expensive relative to their value.
Seifan Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 They are useful for HK-51 dps gear, that is it. ... ha- and black hole and lvl 7 ship gear... So long as the new 50s keep buying black hole, there will be demand for them... That was always the biggest market for stabs.
Darevsool Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Well, the "super" droid parts are (154) which is the same as what the armoring 28's RE up to at the advanced level. Since the 28's required level 53, and the droid parts only require level 50 I would think there would still be a market for the droid parts. However, unless people who do get the stabalizers via drops or space missions continue to sell them, the prices on the droid parts could actually go up with the rarity of the mats.

So yeah, crafters will still have to craft bh/dg. I believe the prices of stabs will go up again. Rakata armorings/barrels/hilts cost 10 planetary commendations, mods and enhancements 4. Sure, BH/DG is better but still leveling gear. You can't go crazy with prices. It's just not worth it. I haven't finished Makeb, but I remember Dulfy saying that her rakata geared toon had some rough times there, but it was doable. Stabs prices dropped because people are dumping their stocks, but once those are gone, stabs will be rather rare. A rare and expensive material won't be good business for leveling gear. Now, if the black hole gear you get from lvl 50 flashpoints would give stabs on RE, that might make crafting BH/DG gear viable in the long term Edited April 11, 2013 by wainot-keel

That was always the biggest market for stabs. Blackhole gear now drops from every HM flashpoint though... So there's really little *need* to buy any BH items. And, as previous poster pointed out, a few hours of gathering planet comms will buy you rakata grade mods. So you can solo grind for rakata now, or flashpoint for blackhole. And... the Makeb content is geared to be 'challenging' ( hard as heck ) but survivable if you're in 50 green/blues. Edited April 11, 2013 by translucentwolf
