For those of us who played KOTOR from the very beginning...

I was one of the many who played KOTOR from its release and loved every second of it. I'm also excited for ROTHC next Sunday although I was gutted to hear of Makeb as opposed to Dantooine as a choice for a New Planet. As a tribute to those who want to keep this as a Star Wars Old Republic style game as opposed to any old riff raff kind of MMO, is there any chance you could bring in some Pazaak, Swoop Racing, Kahn Hounds, Kashyyk and please please please bring back Dantooine for us!

May the force be with you. You'll need it unless you bring us back the true old republic.

They chose to create a new planet instead of use an existing one because of the freedom it gave them.

Alot of the worlds in the SW universe and/or this game are basically themed planets, ie ice world, desert world, city world, etc.

Makeb seems much more varied in it's landscape than any of the existing planets in the game as a result of this freedom.

Also by not using a pre-existing planet they don't have to work within any sort of fictional boundaries, ie X planet doesn't have a space port in this era so it has it have an Orbital Station as a go between for you and your ship.

Some Star Wars fan you are to disrespect the word "Force!" :l

I don't care what they add - I want it good even it's if their own work. I didn't really like Voss. But KotORs (which were mostly Bioware-made) is a different story. I seriously wish for them to take kinda different approach in the future with the game and perhaps release new episodes dlc which will focus only on companions arcs and class stories after they add sufficient amount of new planets.

We have seen Kashyyk and Dantooine on several games. We do not need to revisit thse worlds. We need to visit differant worlds. Makeb is a very good start. Planets established in the Star Wars universe should also be visited. The next one should be Iridonia, homeworld of the Zabraks.

What they should do is build an expansion (a real full priced expansion not a little short one that can barely actually be called an expansion) around the return of the Rakata, and include all those missing kotor worlds that are being maybe reinvaded by the resurgent Rakatan empire, Dantooine, Manaan, and Kaskyyyk, culminating in a trip to Rakata Prime and the ruins of the Star Forge.

You got multiple worlds so it feels like a true full act then just a single planet trip, involving worlds everyone wants to go back to with homages to the original game (fan service, ho!), and you got an enemy that both sides have a good reason to fight. Could even involve Revan in a way that isn't ridiculous, maybe.

Its a pipe dream but if I were at the helm its what I would do. :D

Funny... I played all of the Wacraft games before WoW came out and I never expected anything from the RTS game except the same lore. This game isn't KOTOR... it's TOR... meaning it's got the same lore and from the same universe, but different genre of game.

... move along.

George Lucas said no. Though with Disney buying up Star Wars maybe it will happen.

It still won't happen. They won't add Wookies as a playable race for a variety of reasons.

What they should do is build an expansion (a real full priced expansion not a little short one that can barely actually be called an expansion)

That possibility went out the window when the game went F2P.

How many F2P MMOs have released an EP on the level of what Blizzard does with WoW? Hell how many F2P MMOs do you see released boxed/retail updates? Ever wonder why that is?

Its a pipe dream but if I were at the helm its what I would do. :D

Okay let's say you're at the helm. What you speced out will cost 20 million to produce, but you only have a budget of 5 million. How do you do everything you set out to accomplish at that point?

If you were at the helm you would see first hand the horror of getting funding and a working budget that comes along with a triple A mmo under the banner of EA. SWTOR got a lot of bad press and didn't impress EA with their numbers. Be thankful we're getting what we're getting.

frankly there are 2 issues to adress.

1st is DANTOINE. simple answer this is important to KOTOR ONLY! this is 300 years after kotor and needs to be pushed back to corruscant being hte main jedi capital. if swtor reused dantoine its harder to write up a lore reason of why the jedi ever needed to abonden it in the first place. personally its a nice nod to leave it. after all taris was given as a token in all games and was boring after its 3RD destruction in kotor2 (assuming you went evil to bomb it morte than twice)

2nd issue is wookies. plain and simple no. wookies by lore are not force sensitive. they lack a connection to the force and to any midichlorians in their system. there are MANY reasons for it but simpel one is lucas liked ideas of wookie warriors and did not want to confuse it with force powers and discipline. only 1 wookie jedi exists in expanded universe and while cannon it is a joke amongst fans (more so than jar jar)

more like EA did not impress gamers who left in drooves. EA do ok sports games but they suck at Multiplayer due to fail business sense and over/under developed DRM. like going to common name instead of email log in? security fail 101.

actually more than you would think. the problem is people think F2P and see swtor or what is correctly deemed a "freemium" model. fact is subscription based mmo died in the rear early 2010. these days microtransactions make up over 70% of mmo market share and is proven to better long term support games. all of GW1,GW2 and AION expansions were funded from microtransactions and are all going very strong (for a mmo not copared to WoW)

Get a Marketing EP and build a proper strategy. The biggest fail of EAWARE for SWTOR is their lack of direction when it comes to product awareness. They're slowly improving the customer service and social media management, but that doesn't build a profit and doesn't cost much - at all. (Hell, Eric Musco was a great pickup, a guy who did a podcast about the game, loved it and now helps run the community aspect of the game. I'm sure he's not costing them a bucketload.)

When it comes to entertainment, if you don't have a solid strategy, you will fail.

There are already wookie jedis in the EU...

If you are talking about the wookie padawan on the clone wars show, then know that isnt EU canon its actualy part of George lucas canon T canon actualy, wich is as high as the movies practicaly.

I dont get why people get the silly ideia that TCW tv show isnt canon, when George Lucas himself is directly involved in it.

But in anycase Bioware already said its hard to implement those races in the game. For once you wouldnt be able to wear any kind of Visable gear, and not only to mention the story narrative and its enviroment making a bit weird to ad them. No basic speach, no context in the story.

You are wrong in this. The midichlorians reside in all life forms. Besides the wookie on the TCW was a padawan youngling and was obviously force sensitive. And that isnt even EU its T canon basicly the higher you have right next to the movies canon. Edited by Spartanik

If you think of it, it's right. It would remove Yoda's uniqueness in a way. ( Small creature doing amazing stuff with lightsaber). And I am a Yoda fun by the way!

Would like Pazaak and maybe the Racing, and to visit some of the planets left out from Kotor & Kotor2 would be nice, maybe via flashpoints or special one off missions via Cartel Coins.

Please note I'm suggesting ways they could do it, please suggest more and maybe they'll do it.

There is one. And there is one in T-canon (Clone Wars padawan).

However, both cases required special permission to have them created. When Obsidian tried to create a Force-sensitive wookiee, Lucasarts said no and refused to budge, even though they were already in the middle of production. They had to re-write several conversations.

That was one character, and not a player-controlled character. I don't know why you'd think that TOR would have more luck asking to allow hordes of wookiee force users.
