Ultimatesla Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) The Harbinger isn't the ideal choice for our Oceanic community. It has stability issues, server lag and the ranked warzones are dying. We have a chance to keep our core community intact, and face off against some of the best PVPers in the game. Even if the server is smaller, it's nothing we arn't used to. More of a reason to call The Bastion our home. If you're really considering sacrificing world PVP, to be drowned out by masses of other guilds on a server which crashes regularly, then go ahead. But if you want to keep the MDN community alive, then we should all stick together. MDN's default server for transfers will be The Bastion, and many members of our community will end up going there. If you think transferring to The Harbinger will stop the fragmentation of our community, think again MDN. Even the people from Dalborra agree, The Bastion is clearly the better choice. (At least for PVP anyway) arent we just consolidating our community by joining up with the only decently populated server? which was what the problem was in the first place about low pop? everyone wanted a merged apac superserver, EAWARE stuffed us n closed our servers, just seems to be the next logical choice for most, they get an APAC "superserver" minus the ping. but there will always be people who value their pvp over having a consolidated community and they have their right to go where they please. Paid transfers arent far along, they can change their minds later on down the line. p.s: i do believe everyone with a decent number of alts will be splitting up their toons and can enjoy the best of both worlds.
Ultimatesla Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 whoa... ninja edit of opening post. LOL No one replied, so I assumed no one cared. That's a good point you've made - But the only benefit I see, is the increased amount of queues popping from the increase in population. However, i've read that The Bastion's queues pop 3 times faster than the Harbinger's.
Dacce Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 whoa... ninja edit of opening post. LOL super ninja edit... also, they have fixed a lot of the issues on Harbinger recently. It has a massive population which is good in a lot of ways. Bastion has a smaller off peak (APAC Peak) population than MDN Peak times. So you could technically be heading to a server that has the same issues as APAC - they'll be dead. I don't really know what our guild is going to do we are undecided. But there are pros and cons for both servers.

Bastions queues pop 3x faster during their peak times which will have no benefit to APAC players who play during sensible afternoon/evening hours.

As long as we keep our community intact, then that's the best option. Somehow I feel if we were playing on a smaller server, our community wouldn't be drowned out and lost in the sea of people though. Edited April 3, 2013 by Ultimatesla

To be fair, que times on both the Harbringer and the Bastion are incredibly quick during our peak time, as anybody who has toons on either can attest to. Concerns about not getting pops are not valid for either server, unless of course you assume that one server will "die" eventually, at which point I assume we will have paid server transfers anyway.
