Eillack Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Ever sinse 1.7 then again with the first xp weekend the game has been suffering from lag spikes. There is usually some sort of lag comment in general chat on every planet / fleet every few min now on Jedi Covenant. I usually don't suffer until later eastern times it seems or when the servers are very heavy + Either way, it has been EAware's side for awhile now and I just want to say....in before "have you updated your drivers, etc" drones pop in.
chuixupu Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I was having this issue recently, I downloaded a new LAN driver and it was fixed.
NogueiraA Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Me. Shadowlands, 20mbps internet service and I'm having 700ms peak.
WildbloodX Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I have been experiencing major server lag on Alderaan. I know this world is hard on the server resources, but sheesh it has been extremely bad the last few days and there are only between 20 – 40 people on the planet. The unfortunate thing is, I think this is one of the better worlds. Good design, it’s a shame it sucks so bad with lag issues.
SilentWave Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 You should do a hardware reset on your modem, like I had to do recently for an odd problem I had. After I did it for myself, I never got lag spikes on SWTOR thereafter, so it fixed that problem for me also. To do a hardware reset on your modem: - Turn off the modem and wait 10 seconds.- Hold down the reset button on the back of the modem for 45 seconds. It's one of those standard ones where you'll need a pencil or paper clip to push it.- Turn on the modem.- While the modem is on, hold the reset button again like in step 2. Wait 10 seconds after that.- Turn off the modem again, wait a few seconds, then turn it on again. This might be simplified to just leaving the modem on and holding the reset button in the back for 45 seconds, but I added a few steps that I presume would ensure it works properly. However, I'm not an expert. I did essentially what I said here, and it worked for me.
