Syas Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Once you hit 50 and have finished Class and Planet stories, is the quickest way to raise rep simply Companion gifts? Is it the most efficient?
Vepo Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Yeap the companion gifts is the only way once you've hit 50 and all quests are completed. Just find the companion gift guide via google, so you know which ones you can spam to get it increased.

Arlon_Nabarlly Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 The endgame dailies also give affection. But it's no where near the quickest method.
Cleet_Xia Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 It depends on which companion you're talking about. Each new companion gains affection from conversations at a faster rate than the older companions you already had. The fastest way to max out the FIRST companion is definitely gifts. But the conversations from the daily missions will max out the LAST companion you got fairly quickly. (companions from your class story ~ don't know about HK) The legacy character perks for companion affection from gifts are actually BIG money savers btw (if you buy them early eanough).
DarthTHC Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 But it's no where near the quickest method. Depends on the pet and the quest. The old ones on Belsavis are great for affection for the pets that arrive later in your story line. You can get 500-1,000 per day for some of them. Generally bribes are the quickest way to get affection up if you have the money to buy the gifts. I recently did some math that seems to show that rank 1 gifts are the best bang for the buck through ~6,000 affection and rank 2 gifts after that. Suggest stopping with the bribes at around 8,000 and from there running conversations if they're available and bribing if they're not.

You can get up to 7000-8000 affection on rank 2 gifts. I did this to finish off my imp side companions this way... 8 more companions to do (pub side)
AsheraII Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Yup, DON'T talk to your companions, but just do your missions as usual. Remember to bring the companions that suit your conversation choices as well, and just occasionally bribe them. Once a companion gets in the 8000+ affection range, THEN you start talking to them. Conversation points are NOT affected by how much affection you already have with the companion, so it's most efficient to save these for last. Can be a bit annoying though, having all those mission markers on your ship and not cleaning them up.
Elear Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 (edited) Yeap the companion gifts is the only way once you've hit 50 and all quests are completed. That it NOT true. Heroid/daily quests also give companion affection, and are obviously repeatable. BW got lazy on all dalies added after release, but both Ilum and Belsavis have dalies with real conversations and opportunites to gain affection. Edited March 28, 2013 by Elear
