Pingonaut Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 (edited) I don't know if it's just me, but I've noticed lately (as in the past few weeks/month) my Knight has been visually deflecting blaster fire a lot more, against NPCs (don't know about PvP). It doesn't actually affect the fight, he still takes damage, but it looks like he deflects more. I like it. Makes it look more viable that I'm winning the fight, instead of my character just taking it, not noticing he's being hit. Has anyone else noticed this? Edited March 27, 2013 by Pingonaut
AlexDougherty Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 the visual deflections should match actual deflections, all character have an ability to avoid damage (Defense stat) Jedi/Sith deflect the other classes just dodge the hit, if your showing damage when you deflect it might be a bug.
Pingonaut Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Maybe I deflect more often than I thought, then. It's not like I'm deflecting everything that comes at me, it just seems to happen more often than I'm used to. Thanks for the reply, I guess it's just me never noticing it until now.
Malastare Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 The XP weekends have a tendency to over-level characters, and your higher level (along with higher level gear) is going to drastically increase your chances to dodge/deflect damage. That might be why you're seeing more of it. I've seen this in practice recently, as one of my higher level characters (Lvl 36 assassin) went to Nar Shaddaa for the bonus series and decided to grab a couple datacrons. During the hunt, I was jumped by a pair of mob groups. Six mobs all shooting, and I was able to stand there with my lightsaber flashing about crazily, deflecting nearly every blaster bolt. It was actually a bit humorous, but it illustrated the effect well. My level and armor made me nearly impossible to damage and the game was trying to illustrate that. If you see it happening more, then it's likely that the reason is due to skill/gear/level changes on your character.
