Phatness Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Get this crazy none sense. i just tried to cancel my subscription and of course no button to cancel on my account / subscription / billing history. so i came here to see what i was doing wrong...still no help on forums except call for help.lol yeah ok i call, long distance, i was put on hold for 20 minutes. by the time i get help go over my situation again....this is where is gets hilarious. it turns out my subscription ended in January and i was playing for free with all sub perks. was raiding/pvp/crafting with about 12 toons. The kicker is if i never called to cancel i could have had the full game for free for ever.... this company is soo messed up i wonder how many others are playing for free and dont even know it. i had no cancel sub button because i wasn't sub'd anymore. lmao i hope this made some of you laugh. because its all i can do at this point.
Uvirith Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 this company is soo messed up i wonder how many others are playing for free and dont even know it. Not many. Most of us have their finances in order. You say BioWare is messed up, but you dont even know what subscriptions youre paying.
Pingonaut Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I'm laughing more at the fact that you didn't check to see what you're paying every month.
Lung_Tien_Lien Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 (edited) While I don't want to discredit the customer support, I'd recommend checking your credit card's payment history (or whichever service you were using before) to make sure you actually haven't been paying anything. Better safe than sorry and all that. Edit: I should clarify that I mean you should check so on the off-chance that they were wrong, you won't keep paying even though you don't want to keep playing. If you're doing well for yourself financially, as I am, you tend to spend less time looking over your monetary details (especially such a small monthly payment) and more time enjoying your money.

Spetulhu Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 The billing department is a bit messed up at times. When I returned to the game last year I had the opposite problem - EA/Bioware didn't want my credit card. The same card I've used for a dozen years with any number of online transactions, game subs and so on. It works now but the first time I resubbed I had to buy a game time code.

Thats the spirit internet-scammers feast at. as long as people dont look at small monthly payments, there is always room for con-artist cheers for modern society!

That's not really a modern idea. People with more money don't think about small sums as much. Makes sense. But it also attracts people who perceive the weakness there. I'm personally a broke *** guy who knows exactly which pennies are going where.
Risq Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 If you're doing well for yourself financially, as I am, you tend to spend less time looking over your monetary details (especially such a small monthly payment) and more time enjoying your money. This statement reminds me of a quote I heard years ago when someone asked Ernest Hemingway how he went bankrupt. He said: It was slowly, and then all at once. If you have no concern over your finances you slowly lose money, but you don't know it. But by the time you do realize it, it's too late. Then you're in a hole and soon are completely broke while trying to play catch up. Personally I prefer to know where my money is leaking

I do pretty well myself and keep an eye on my money... You saying it as you did just makes you sound like a pompous douche bag.
