Is it after 50% of shield rating or just Shield chance does the diminishing returns begins? Because I have 30% shield chance, but after i put on my Dark ward it goes up to 50%. My Shield rating is only at 11% though. So should I just keep my shield rating at 11% or take that up to 50%?

Until the expansion comes out. You want 45% before Dark Ward so that you have 65% total with Dark Ward

Diminishing returns begins when your shield chance gained from shield rating stat in your gear is greater than 0.

 

At no point should you ever stop adding more shield rating. (except don't put it in augments, but use only defense or absorption augments since shield rating (in terms of the stat, not the percentage) is going to get higher than the other two anyway)

 

Fully geared assassin should have somewhere around, or slightly over

 

30% defense chance

45% shield chance (that is 65% with Dark Ward up)

60% absorption

 

(and no accuracy rating at all)

 

And even these are not really "caps" in the real sense, just optimal values with full 63 gear
