Pet view graphics option

It would be nice to have a graphic option to see or not see pets. When I say pets I mean pets, I am not talking about companions.

Having this option would allow those who do not want the added clutter in fleet/flash points/raids the option to remove them without limiting other peoples personal enjoyment of using them.

It would also slightly help those who run the game on older rigs since the less things you computer has to render the less work it has to do, the better your frame rate.

In case you haven't noticed.. Your pets are constantly targeting you.. Same as your companions.. So all you would see is yourself.. If I am not mistaken.. You are already looking at your character to begin with.. So there.. You see what they see.. ;)

Why would you want to do that??

Actually, having loads of animated pets out can reduce performance for lower end rigs. It's made even worse when you can have multiple mini-pets out at once: my Agent can have the Terminus Destroyer and the Sub-zero Miniprobe out at the same time. It's awesome, but I can imagine it being a bit of a problem.

I guess I just have to wonder how much the animated pets actually effect performance.. It seems to me that the people with low end rigs are running with their setting to high if every little thing that moves across their screen effects it..

I haven't seen to many PVP matches with a lot of pets out.. In fact, after everyone dies at least once, there is usually none.. Ops is pretty much the same.. Although a few manage to make it back out when we are waiting on someone or a boss explination.. So I am guessing we are talking about the fleet..

My question is, would the pets that people have out on the fleet, take up more resources than say all the various effects in a PVP match or an OP?? Honestly.. I am asking here.. :D
