Aedey
Well... It was meant to be in 1.2, it's now 2.0.. what the hell? I mean even Cathar.. what happened to that? I left in October'ish.. when the F2P came in. 4 months later the game still has nothing more than it did.. well 4 months ago. This is an mmo*RPG* & I can't get my toons to look precisely how I want. Bioware, gamers can be really really ****** about these things.. why are there no things to help us look how we want? There are literally 4 - 7 looks you can have as a lvl 50 trooper. I want some nice blue trim orange rarity armour.. why can I not have this? But more to the point.. why are Jedi forced to have hoods up? This was meant to be done almost a year ago. Please get behind me on this, I find it hard to RP if my toons aren't how I imagine, Please. Edited March 3, 2013 by Aedey
ISDcaptain
THIS ISNT SWG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol Honestly, If this feature isn't in WoW, it wont be in TOR period. I really don't like the dev mindset like that but we cant do anything. Edited March 3, 2013 by ISDcaptain

The fact was this feature was meant to be in the game already.. & it isn't.
Scarrleth
Aye, I agree. This feature should be in the game. I know tons of people who want the same thing, too. Screw WoW, this has the potential of being something way, way better.
AggieKasten
Agree completely. I was using (Headgear of Volatile Force) with (Saber Marshal's Robe) and it looked awesome. Now I either can't wear the mask, or it looks stupid by itself. A hood toggle would fix that, and I really can't imagine it is that hard to implement. Never coded a game but...considering they just went through the trouble of completely re-working skill trees for 2.0 (that were working just fine), I've got to imagine this would be worth their while. However, I don't ever recall them giving 1.2 as the patch they would add it in. They've only ever said that it's in the works. THIS ISNT SWG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol Honestly, If this feature isn't in WoW, it wont be in TOR period. I really don't like the dev mindset like that but we cant do anything. They've already said they're working on it, so there goes that idea. Agree completely. I was using (Headgear of Volatile Force) with (Saber Marshal's Robe) and it looked awesome. That part in bold, that's your problem right there. You say you know nothing about it but then go on to comment on how hard you think it is. Those items with hoods up have no hood that's down. The mesh it uses may or may not have a corresponding version with the hood down, and if it doesn't then it has to be made. Even if the mesh exists the texture that matches that specific item's hood-up version likely doesn't exist. So they'll have to make a hood down texture that matches the hood-up texture, in order to have the item look like the same item in either position. That in itself wouldn't take long, but they have to do that for every hooded item in the game, whether it's currently hood-up or hood-down. And sure with a couple good artists that may not even take too long, maybe a month or two (uneducated guess). But BioWare has things they need to add, more things than they have people to work on it all at once (no developer ever does) so it needs to be prioritized. Someone had to make all of the new armor and art for Makeb, and I'm sure that's a higher priority than a hood toggle. So instead of just having a group of employees converting all the items in the game in one large chunk of time they probably split it up to be worked on between larger projects. In the end it takes a lot longer, but other more important stuff gets done too. All that said, I'm eagerly awaiting them getting this feature done. It would make things a lot better for force users of either side.
Sportiva
If we could put a man on the moon in less than a decade 43 years, I would think by now a trained monkey could code some pixels to change positions in a year.

The mesh it uses may or may not have a corresponding version with the hood down, and if it doesn't then it has to be made. But if you use a headgear that disables the hood, it is down. Shouldn't that mean there is a "hood down" option for virtually every chestpiece already? I'm not that worried about an animation to raise or lower the hood, or seeing a ruffled "down" hood on the top of the back or something, just the option to choose between the setups it seems like they already have. Also, I might be slightly off-topic on this one because all I REALLY want is my *********** mask and *********** hood back. A few weeks ago I could roll hood & mask at the same time so I KNOW its possible and I'm just frustrated they fixed something that wasn't broken (while not adding a hood toggle, which is in fact "broken"). It's not down, it's gone. That's not the same thing, not even close. And the issue with masks and hoods is a bug, they've already said they're fixing it. Just a quick update, we have confirmed this is definitely a bug and is not intended. We will work on getting this resolved so look for it in future patch notes and it will be added to the known issues list. -eric

The feature is based on the completion of the art department to literally have to resculpt and re-create every single item that has a hood in the game. And my characters still look lame with the mask on because there's no hood when they could look fantastic with the hood up with the mask.
