Andyhipkiss Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 It was the recent mobile security key problem for me. Having to ring up customer support, then wait in a queue so I could get my security key removed, just to be able to play, was the last straw. Poor performance, bugs still in game from launch, bugs introduced with patches that never get fixed, re-skinned armor that gets introduced instead of content, I could go on. I've unsubbed. Not to make a point, but I cant justify spending money on bug ridden tripe. BioWare won't listen, they are making too much money from the Cartel Market to care. I'll pop my head in as a F2P'er, if only to see how much content we don't get in 2.0.
Alavastre Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 You mean the camel's back. Unless you have multiple camels and you're going around breaking their backs. That would be very cruel.

theborch Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 Maybe he meant CamelBak and the straw punctured it making it unable to hold water anymore.
hippiechick Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I just got a new phone 2 weeks ago and had to do the whole "turn off key, activate new key" thing as well. But my experience was entirely different. The hold time was all of 2 or 3 minutes, the guy who helped me was courteous and patient, and we got the entire thing done in like five minutes. /shrug M

Sounds like a dumb reason to quit, but what ever makes you happy.

The only long part of resetting the Security Key is the phone Queue the actual time it takes the rep to reset your key is 2 minutes. I was on hold for 15 minutes when I reset mine, but I just left my phone on speaker and browsed the web while I waited. It really isn't a big deal. Some people just like to find things to complain about.

You missed his point. He didn't give all the reasons for us to fully understand his dilema but, it is safe to say that his security key is causing him to not beable to play the game. It should be trivial for customer service to change this no matter if it's a hard key (via fab) or soft key (via app). The fact that it isn't is telling. I agree it should be hard for someone to remove or hack but not that it should be hard for Customer Service to you know assist it's customers. You usually are more astute than this.

It isn't hard for CS to remove it all. Once you get a CS Rep on the phone it takes less than 5 minutes. He is more complaining about being on hold. All you do is give the CS Rep I think 3 pieces of information to confirm you are the account holder and they immediately remove the key. CS reps do not struggle with it at all. If he wants to validly complain he should complain about too many people calling CS or them not having enough CS to quickly answer calls. Edited February 25, 2013 by theborch

I didn't read it exactly that way when I read the OP. Given the number of horror story threads on this subject, I never installed my CE key fab when my account was active. The first paragraph can be read as you say and it can also be read as he didn't get satisfaction for his distress.
hippiechick Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I was nervous because of the horror stories too. In fact I braced myself for a long hold time, had phone on speaker sitting on my desk while I played just like the poster under my other post (sorry forgot your name man) and was really surprised when they answered so fast. After that it was cake. The guy even stayed on the phone with me (at my request) until I completed all the steps. I made sure that I told him about the short hold time and thanked him for being such a good sport with my old ladyness lol. I think the OP called during a peak call time and just got mad about being on hold. Would I quit a game over it? No. M
jeniyagyu Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I had the same problem. Was on hold for 20 minutes. Got it fixed in 2 minutes. Went about my day. Second time I had to call to remove my key. No reason to /ragequit. -shakes head-
Andyhipkiss Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 I think you've slightly missed the point.. The security key debacle was simply the tipping point, an error which could have been simply resolved turned into everyone having to ring customer services, suffering the international cost if they lived outside the UK. The other reasons I listed in my original post are also reasons I left, plus more I haven't listed. The game as it stands is worthless to play as a F2P'er and not worth the cost as a subscriber. But like I said, BW doesn't really give a damn.

The fact that you were already stressed by something and this just made you mad, thus you decided to bring up ALL the little reasons that "you think" you are quitting. We all know that BW dosen't care. We all know the game is riddled with bugs and half the time is broken. Why people continue to post that they are leaving by beyond me. BW isn't listening and your not going to get 100's of people to mass quit with you. All you will get is trolling. :/

I post in hope of my comments reaching at least the forum droids and maybe a little higher. I didn't get mad at the security key debacle, it actually saddened me a little. The final realization that the game I hoped to be great was ultimately a third rate WoW clone with more bugs than one star hotel bed. Maybe people will read this and realize too, who knows, stranger things have happened. Like BW patches without bugs... oh wait..
AlaricSevGirl Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I was on hold for 2 hrs, 2 days in a row trying to get my security key off my account. I finally gave up and started a new account. It wasn't worth it.
