Sell Commendation Packs for Cartel Coins

This would make piles of money for Bioware, and would take very little work to implement, since there are already various commendation boxes in game.

The boxes should be tradeable and sellable for credits, but once opened the commendations awarded would of course be bound to the character that opened the box. This would, as a side effect, provide a Cartel Market commodity that has a reasonably high and steady equilibrium credit value, which would make it an efficient medium for turning real life $ into in-game credits (thus allowing Bioware to capture any revenue that is or would be diverted by black market gold sellers).

Just looking at the endgame comms as a baseline, they could probably easily set prices for these that would work out to somewhere around $5 to $10 per slot. So, for example, based on Dulfy's endgame gearing guide, it takes 600 daily comms to get two Dread Guard relics, and about 700 BH comms to get a full set of BH gear with all of the Campaign armorings to bring the set bonus in.

700 - 1,400 CC for 300 Daily Comm Pack = $5 - $10 per slot

8,500 - 17,000 CC for 700 Black Hole Comms = $5 - $10 per slot

Another way to look at this is you're paying about $10 - $15 per week of maximum grind avoided, given Dulfy's totals of around 159 BH comms per week max and 570ish daily comms per week.

It would also be nice to have an Alt Pack that has boxes inside with 99 comms for each of the leveling planets. Those could probably be around 500 to 800 CC for a big pack with boxes for all planets, or appropriate lower prices for single boxes of 99 for just one planet.

You realize this is the very definition of "Pay to Win"... right? No thanks. Make people work for it.

Completely agree, commendations (PVP or otherwise) can be gained rather quickly, so now you want to be able to pay to get something thats meant to require a small amount of work??

^This x 1000

Absolutely no to any of the eldergame and pvp comms. I would however be OK if the planet comms were available from CCs. Since it's not endgame it wouldn't be P2W just more leveling help.

If by "win" you mean "avoid weeks of mindless grind," then sure. Other than with relics and implants, Bioware has so far stuck with the pattern where everything except the current BiS (Dread Guard at the moment) can be bought with comms, and the ultimate end game gear only comes from trading in raid drops. So people still have to "work for it" if they want the best of the best, but if they want to avoid the pointless grind for the tiers up through BiS - 1, then commendation packs would allow that.

You basically don't want to play the game as intended. MMORPGs are not for you. ALL MMORPGs are variable reward event skinner boxes by their very nature as implemented at this time. Again MMORPGs are not the game for you if you can't abide to reside inside this paradigm. Any attempt to circumvent this rule set by outside means in tantamount to "cheating". Play the game as it is intended or don't play the game at all and find something which you find more appealing.

They already give you free Tionese. Which means you can jump right in. If you could buy BH gear as soon as you hit 50, not only would your end game not last long, but you'd also be pressured by guilds to either fork up the money or get passed over for Ops runs. Again, horrid idea.

Join a guild full of people who don't have allowances or day jobs. Problem solved.

And the suggestion of being able to sell them on the GTN  You say the addition of these would be to lower grind rates, but these packs would sell for so outrageously high you would need to grind to get the money for them anyways. the only ones profiting with these packs would be

1) Bioware

2) people looking to make the game easier for them by throwing a few bucks into the game.

And this comes from someone who buys Cartel Coins regularly.

Or you could join a guild that is helpful and helps you grind to get the creds and items you want? Rather than there be an influx of guilds that use the cartel packs to overun the GTN with their get rich quick schemes.

Since when have they stuck to a pattern? One gear set back you could buy full Black Hole with comms (every slot) put those mods in Tionese (now free) for set bonus and get BiS with no raiding at all.

And yes part of the winning is putting the time in. If you aren't willing to put the time, you aren't willing to win. Your argument is the equivalent of someone saying "Steroids aren't P2W they're just a way to skip months and months boring of weight training"

I think the OP would be just as happy if Bioware put in a Black Hole Comm vendor where all you had to do was click on it once a day and get free comms.

Seriously? BH Comms have been made ridiculously easy to get! If you're having issues with how it currently is, then you need to find another game.

I don't get it, you want to be able pay to finish the game? Is it not the whole point to play the progress through the content so that you earn the best gear. And if you don't like the leveling or progression part of MMOs, then why are you playing an MMO?

Pay to win removes one important part of games like this, the feeling of accomplishment, when you do something that may be challenging or time consuming and you get your just reward it is a great feeling. Skipping all that is like skipping past a movie to just see the end. You lose the journey, and if you find that to be a mindless grind, then I have only one advice, stop playing this kind of game.

yup, complete pay to win concept and Id probably cancel if they did it

Coms (dailies or black hole or columi/tionesse) are not that hard to get

Sounds like the OP just wants everything with no effort

You're free to not buy any.

So it's win-win for (1) the company that makes and supports the game; and (2) people who want to give them lots of money. I can see how that would suck.
