So is the 'pvp' tree the farthest to the right?

Just going around building talent specs, reading posts and looking around something dawned on me.

*Now forgive me if this is common knowledge*

Is the left tree the 'utility' or 'special' tree where you bring something unique.

Middle tree is the pure pve dps tree.

Right tree is the pvp tree.

Pyrotech is far right.

Focus is far right.

Balance is far right.

All have talents exclusively dealing in pvp.

Far left are healing and tanking trees.

Middle are pure dps trees.

Seems like it to me anyway.

Strongest pvp specs:

Far right

Weakest pvp specs:

Middle

Coincidence?

Not true, lets take the assassin.

The worst pvp build is the far right aka madness aka Balance for republic. Sure most of the hybrid spec have 13 to 23 points in madness but full madness is terrible in pvp for an assassin. You'd better take full deception over full madness.

Also Combat is better for pvp than than watchman. I think we might be better of if we though of it more as

Left Tree: Heals/Tank

Middle Tree: Movement/Control/Specialty

Right Tree: Burst

The smuggler AC breaks this theory as well though with the dot tree being the shared (right) tree.

Um, the only GOOD tree on the operative/scoundrel to dps pvp is the middle tree. The healing tree is extremely viable though

For snipers and gunslingers, the left tree is also a very good burst spec.

Gunnery commando is also a pretty good spec to play if nobody bugs you and you are left to do your stuff

Your idea may apply when looking purely at smashmonkeys and PT/Vanguards because pure tanks aren't that useful in PVP as it stands and the middle trees aren't that popular.

It also applies I guess with sorc/sage, but really, I dont see many of those not just spamming bubbles anymore as of recently.

Engineering slinger, concealment operative, vengeance jugg, carnage marauder, deception sin.

These specs do fine in PVP and have great utility.

Isn't it common for rated groups to NOT have any of these above though?

Operatives always are heals. (Left tree, utility or role tree)

Juggernauts are always Rage. (Right tree, pvp / burst tree)

Assassins are hybrid tanks. (Mix of left and right leaving middle alone)

Every serious rated team I know tries to bring an engi sniper or sabo slinger for the cap denial, and a combat sentinel / carnage mara for the speed boost and single target burst.

Of course these days everyone respecs on the fly depending on warzone.
