pseudonyms Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 I believe you can actually use them, although I never have. I think they are a healer class.
Aelther Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 (edited) I believe you can actually use them, although I never have. I think they are a healer class. They only have few skills though, not a full action bar, like every other companion. And they can not equip anything in main hand. But that's the whole point. They get great crafting bonuses (from ship's repair droid) and they suck at combat, so you use them to craft and can use your favourite 'real' companion for combat, instead of wasting that 'real' companion for crafting. Sanctioned Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 He's just there to aid you in getting your non-gathering/non-crafting crafting proff up and running. Treasure Hunting, Underworld Trading, and I think Diplomacy? while still being able to use your companion to go around questing.
TheSabor Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 ok unrelated questions why are Revans robes wrong?
tausser Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 They are healers. I dumped Quinn for 2V because 2 is both better-looking and has more personality.

WarbNull Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 I have been using my Ship droid in combat lately. They are pretty good at healing. If you need a healer companion they are a good trade off in combat. In fact my ship droid has been lasting longer than some of my Smugglers companions that seem to jump in and get killed from time to time. Some of the Smuggler companions are just stupid. I do not have hardly any droid parts installed on mine, but he handles himself pretty well. I am starting to look into gearing him up now to see if he will work even better than he already is. My advice. (From using him without being geared.) If people do not try to go for to many Elites at once with them they should be fine. Just stick with equal level mobs or lower, and maybe a single elite here and there, depending on how good your character can handle him or her self. Other than that it is just and extra runner for Crew Skills.
Kytea Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Why are there ship droids that dont do ANYTHING? all mine does is say "Looking fit and dealy like always master" and i dont get why its there C2-N2 can be equipped with sensors that give him significant crfting/mission bonuses. For example, a trooper can equip him with the Engineering sensor, and he gets a +5 crit bonus to cybertech
