This is a suggestion box not a discussion thread so take your fancyassed comments and post them elsewhere

My apologies to your inability to progress on probably the easiest and most underutilized aspect of the game prior to the introduction of hard mode space missions.

While it may be the suggestion box, it is still a forum. As such, it's open to discussion.

But since you didn't want do discuss, but rather rage about your issues, I didn't feel it worthwhile to do more than state my opinion.

But since you feel it's all about simply suggesting things, I suggest you take a look at your ship parts, the use of torpedoes and perhaps the occasional space bar stomp. Also invest in the ECM pod and EMP module.

If that's not enough, get rank 7 parts and faceroll it. It's not rocket science.

This space mission is stupidly impossible, make it easier.

Just keep practicing. At one point or other it wasn't that easy to most but you'll get it after you practice a bit more.

Also, make sure your ships gear is upgraded where it should be.

Slow down, it's not for all that.

Any other bright ideas...didn't think so!

I honestly don't know what to tell you. If you have the concussion missile launcher, turrets should be going down faster then a presidential secretary. Same with fighters, though the fighters are the lesser threat. You won't be taking much, if any damage, so your power converter should be set for blasters for the whole run.

The trench can get kinda tricky, but you can light up the fighters before y have actual line of sight by hovering over the edge of the left trench face on your approach. If you've done what you need to, when you come out the other side of the trench, you'll have 2 destroyers to contend with, but only one (the one coming in on the top left of your screen) with any guns. You can get one missile volley on it as soon as you spot as you exit the trench and that should knock some of its teeth out (be carefull of the asteroids). There will be several groups of fighters to strafe the shuttle here as well, but the only thing you can do here is get them ASAP to minimize potential damage. Retarget the destroyer as soon as it looms onto the screen again and blow off everything you can. I don't know if it matters or not with regard to the actual firepower of the thing, but I take out every turret, shield generator and engine just to be sure.

Once that's done, you just have a few pairs of fighters before the mission ends. The shuttle should be at roughly 50% health by the end of the run once you get things memorized.

If this doesn't help (or I've got the wrong mission) then perhaps you can tell us where the shuttle craps out and we can go from there.
