Okay, I'm really not one of these people who continually *****es about things. But I'd like to know the rational behind opening more servers that won't be filling up any time soon over expanding the servers that are currently available. Looking at my server list atm, there's more than a dozen low population servers open, yet the one I'm on has an hour + queue.

Why do they think opening more servers will fix this issue when people already have guilds set up with dozens if not hundreds of members instead of boosting the numbers availiable to be in each server? :/

yes I will take it, I don't mind it too greatly, I'm just interested in the rational as to why open more servers instead of make the current ones larger?

um you missed the part where they said they were watching populations on the servers and were expanding some of the caps I take it. They also said they had to make sure the servers would be stable with the increased caps so were doing it in increments and taking into account that their is a hard cap they would reach at some point

we've had 1000+ queue's on Swiftsure for the last 4 days, they need to get them down faster obviously, since it does really irritate people, especially when alot of the areas in the game feel really empty thus far

If they expand the server while large numbers are coming in the servers will reach max and we'll be stuck with queues.

Queues will force new people to choose a different server while not restricting people who need to play with friends on a server. Once the main rush of new (launch) players get in and choose a server, that would be the time to expand the servers to reduce queues, imo. Not to let more new people on full servers.

This is insane! We have to wait for 3-6 hours on Bloodworthy EU server! This is just not going to work! Why are you opening new servers and not expanding the ones that need more room for players to find it fun to play the game....

Most of my friends at the moment, cant play at the same time, due to the fact that ques take atleast 90 minutes, and btw, your estimated time for getting in? IT DOESNT WORK! Im always told to wait an average 1 hour and 5 minutes - 1 hour and 20 minutes.... lies... its bloody 3 hours.

Either you expand the servers or you give FULL servers the right for 1 free character transfer!

nr 200 at 8.30 am is not cool!

Oh come on! 200? This is nothing, poor boy, you have to wait how long? 10 minutes? 20?

I have regulary 20-25 minutes of queue, on sunday it was the largest, 880 in queue, 2 hours, happened one time until yet.

A problem? no not really, its not unusual when mmo starts, and on the other side, in these 2 hours i prepared the dinner, had the dinner and talked with my wife. you are not bound on your chair....

I've never had to wait in a queue yet I keep reading all these horror stories and wondering why it isn't happening here. My server is one of only two West Coast RP servers, I would have expected it to be a popular choice. But apparently not. What is it about the servers you folks are choosing that is causing you these horrible queues?

I calculate 200 on my server as 30 minute waiting.

Last time I waited 2.5 hours in 1k queue.

Now, at 9.00 I am im 200 people queue. Enough to take shower, make and eat breakfast.

on the OT: they are expanding gradually and where they feel it is needed.

they say that the queues will persist. The last entry in the dev. tracker.

The Swiftsure commonly has 1000+ queue.

I would suggest allowing for free server transfer, but only to low population servers. This would avoid the issue of another server becoming overwhelmed with users.

lock the full servers and increase their cap

oh em gee! a solution that would work for everybody!

Understand how timezones work dude.

Swiftsure is the unofficial (official) Oceanic PVP server. Its now 7.20pm in sydney, (5.20pm in tokyo). So of course that server is going to have a queue. And of course all the other servers in West USA are going to look dead. Its what, 2am in Austin right now? Hardly peak time, is it?

server queues are a big problem. and opening new servers instead of expanding the ones that are overloaded is beyond, beyond stupid. since then there remains no point to guilds, friends, and the whole 'guild deployment' charade that bioware ran as a promotion.

if we were going to have to move to other servers when our servers became overloaded, what was the frigging point of setting up guilds, guild alliances, guild foes before entering the game and getting deployed accordingly ?

They are counting on a lot of players joining just because it is a Star Wars game and thus not joining with friends or guilds. Those players will look at the server selection screen and see alot of full servers and choose other servers. That way with the maintenance scheduled after the grace period or on Tuesday of next week, when they up the caps on alot of servers, they won't have queues anymore. They are shooting for most players to be settled by then so it will increase their odds of relieving the server queues for most if not all servers. It seems like a pretty smart move by them to me, considering this is a long term game. Too many people expect things to be fixed instantly. Please understand that they have to evaluate many different aspects while making decisions about fixes and patches. This game is meant to be for years, not a few weeks.

What would piss you off more, they take a week to fix the problem and you no longer have any issues or they fix it tomorrow but it screws up something else so they fix that the day after which in turn screws up something else and so on?

I personally would choose the fix it right the first time even if you have to weigh the options for a week.

Just my 2 cents.
