Sneakymcstab
Because you are applying it completely incorrectly? The Juggernaut-Marauder armor issue is much more relevant due to the stats. So, substituting in: And on top of that, it is from the Sentinel's point of view that it is the same. The Sentinel has to deal with a disadvantage that other classes to not have to deal with. This is others from outside of their class justifiably taking gear from them that would otherwise make their leveling experience easier. Having more than one ability makes the leveling experience easier just as not having that gear upgrade stolen from you does. The fact that you got it so twisted around in your head is impressive... I thought we were discussing this in the broader sense, across all classes. I confused the Sentinel with the Sage there as I'm more of an Empire player, which is why my example was like that. It's still vastly different than not having certain abilities available, but whatever. I agree that armor drops in flashpoints and such should be restricted to the people it's meant for, because people don't seem to have common sense and decency any more. I just don't think it should be restricted on social armor and craftables. Edited December 20, 2011 by Sneakymcstab
Zamm
I read the first couple posts and then gave up. You are incorrect no matter what. Why? Because you're upset that someone who wears heavy took your medium armor and you can't take his heavy armor.. Now seriously. More options you say? Look at the social armor. The MAJORITY of Social Armor (Social Vendors) is Light Armor, you can mod that and won't ever need another upgrade again until 50 as a light armor wearer. Some of it is Medium Armor. I have YET TO SEE Heavy Armor on a Social Armor vendor.... You can get drops from flashpoints to mod, yes.. But it is just so. much. easier. when you can acquire the appropriate social level, go to a social vendor, buy a set of social armor, and be good until 50 if you stay up to date with mods... Now on your complaints: This is the way it is, this is the way it will likely continue to be. Why? Lore. If you don't like it, don't pick a class that logically won't wear heavy armor. Rogue/Scout classes in heavy armor? Not. Likely. Logically, anyone sacrificing defense for another weapon (such as marauder) is not going to wear heavier armor.. Logically, anyone relying on quick movement and their ranged weapon is not going to wear heavier armor.. Logically, anyone that is involved in a conflict and isn't on their toes moving in, out, and all over the place (non-sexually) will wear heavy armor.. If you throw on some heavy armor and tried to jump around like yoda.. You'd fall down some stairs and yell "THIS QUEST SUCKS!" .. Now.. This isn't reality, which means if you want to play the logical card on why more classes should have heavy armor but then say it's just a game so it shouldn't be realistic, then you cancel your own discussion out.. If you feel it's just a game, then none of this matters because it's just a game.. Either way.. The result is that there will be those magical classes that wear heavy armor... and the ones that don't.. Edited December 23, 2011 by Zamm
