if Shroud of Darkness is not worth the points for 3% Endurance, then I would think Premonition is not worth the points for 2% Defense.

 

i keep playing around with Disjunction and Lightning Recovery. those 3 points will either end up there or in Shroud of Darkness for me.

 

the other issue is Thrashing Blades. those two points may end up in Premonition, just to maximize my defense.

Those are two completely different things.

 

Defense is a stat that determines whether a hit is missed/evaded or if it goes through to the second roll (crit/shield/hit). Having higher Defense is infinitely better than higher Endurance.

i understand how Endurance and Defense work...

 

Then don't compare the two like that. They aren't the same. 2% Defense >>> 3% Endurance

just saying that 2-3% of almost anything is a small difference, whether it's Endurance or Defense.

 

No.. it's not. The Defense bonus is additive to the Mitigation percentage rating after calculations, not to the stat itself.

 

Fully buffed without "Defense" gear an Assassin has 21% Avoidance rating. This includes the 2% buff from Premonition (so 19% without it). The wording on the talent tooltip is a bit off.. watch your character sheet when learning the talent if you don't believe me.

 

That's much much different than adding 3% to your total Endurance pool.

Yes I apologize. I didn't realize you were thinking of the "Defense" stat though I probably should have assumed that given the wording of the talent.

 

I wasn't 100% accurate though.. the 21% includes Premonition so you'd have 19% without the talent. I corrected my previous comment.

 

As an aside, Lightning Reflexes does the same thing as Premonition mechanics-wise.

why would charge master 3/3 be batter then thrashing blades 2/2 and charge master 1/3 i understand more resistance but most of your damage comes from thrash so wouldn't that be better to help keep aggro please explain to me thanks.

3/3 Charge Mastery is the only Elemental/Internal defense we get through Talents.

 

Elemental and Internal damage do not get mitigated by Armor so we will always take full damage unless we have resistances for them.

 

In all actuality most of our damage comes from Shock, not Thrash. Thrash is more of a setup skill.
