SandmanZero Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 So these secondary stats start showing up on equipment and mods after level 25 or so, and like the title says their called Alacrity, Power, Absorption, etc. For the life of me I can not track down what these stats DO. Some of them are pretty obvious, like absorption (ie, shield strength), but what is Alacrity? What does Power apply to? There is no place on THIS website where these stats are even mentioned, nothing on darthhater or any other site I can find. There is nothing IN THE GAME that gives any indication that these stats do ANYTHING, so an explanation from anyone in the know would be awesome. Thank you in advance.
Mastermavrick Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Alacrity = plus speed Power = plus damage Absorption = damage intake reduced as far as I have noticed.
crumbledimage Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 copy/pasted from this site: http://www.starwarsmmolevelingguide.com/character-stats/ Secondary Stats * Presence – boots companion health, damage and healing * Power – adds melee, force and tech damage * Force/Tech Power – Found on weapons, works like Power but does not provide melee/ranged damage * Accuracy – Gives +hit and gives armor/spell pen over 100% * Crit – gives melee, force and tech crit * Surge – increased critical damage * Armor – reduces physical and kinetic damage (all Tech and Force powers unless listed otherwise are Kinetic) * Defense – increases Parry/Deflect (deflect is just ranged parry) * Shield – increases chance to be shielded on attack * Absorption – increases the % of damage shaved off shielded attacks * Alacrity – Cast/channel Haste * Expertise – PvP stat. Increases damage and healing done, reduces damage taken.
Kelimdar Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Each one is listed on your character sheet. Power, for example, I found under the ranged header on my smuggler. Its an overall damage performance enhancing stat. Just highlight each one and read the tooltips.
Lostfett Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Alacrity increases ability activation time Power (from what I have read) increases ability output (+dmg, +healing) regardless of dmg/heal type (spell/tech/what ever else). This I have not confirmed for each class first hand). There will also be other stats you'll run into that seem pretty easy +Crit, +Defense, +Accuracy, etc. Best advice I can give ya, is to watch your Character Sheet © stats while you change the gear out, see what (if anything) changes, then mouse-over to drill down. GL with your saga dude.
Sardis_Jett Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Alacrit = speed? What kind of speed.. attack speed, movement speed?
Vysirez Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 If you do some digging in your character window you can generally figure out what they do. You just have to mouse over all your derived stats and looks for where they are named. I can't remember exactly what they are all called without the game in front of me, but I can answer some. Absorption/Shield both affect shielding, one increases shield chance, other increases amount absorbed. Defense increases dodge rate, least I think it's called defense. Alacrity increases casting speed. Under Force or Tech you should see a state related to casting speed. That is what Alacrity affects. Power increases force or tech damage. There are 3 different kinds of power, force power, tech power, and just power. The named pair just affect what they are named after, generally you just see those in class specific items, focii or blasters etc. General power does the same thing, but works on both tech and force characters. Crit increases crit change. Surge increases crit value. Base crit value is 50%, so a crit is 150% of normal. Surge increases that value. I think that is most of them. If I missed something, try mousing over your stats window til you find a listing for it.
Icebergy Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 The answers you seek are in your character sheet...in game...
Highcommander Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 copy/pasted from this site: http://www.starwarsmmolevelingguide.com/character-stats/ Secondary Stats * Presence – boots companion health, damage and healing * Power – adds melee, force and tech damage * Force/Tech Power – Found on weapons, works like Power but does not provide melee/ranged damage * Accuracy – Gives +hit and gives armor/spell pen over 100% * Crit – gives melee, force and tech crit * Surge – increased critical damage * Armor – reduces physical and kinetic damage (all Tech and Force powers unless listed otherwise are Kinetic) * Defense – increases Parry/Deflect (deflect is just ranged parry) * Shield – increases chance to be shielded on attack * Absorption – increases the % of damage shaved off shielded attacks * Alacrity – Cast/channel Haste * Expertise – PvP stat. Increases damage and healing done, reduces damage taken. This is a good start... but be warned some of these things have more going on behind the scenes than the simple tooltip. For example "Surge" does have an end result of increasing critical damage but it does it by a Critical Damage multiplier found in a percentage... something like 50 surge gives 15% increased Critical Damage output upon a successful crit.
SandmanZero Posted December 20, 2011 Author Posted December 20, 2011 Thanks again all, I thought I had moused over everything in the character sheet about a dozen times, but I guess not. Looks like my crit stats are getting replaced.
MaestroC Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Ok so if tech power doesnt increase ranged/melee damage. What type of damage does it increase? Wish-damage? In short explain it so I can understand it. Treat me like a 5 year old if need be =).
Darth_Visage Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 http://torwars.com/2011/12/17/swtor-guide-character-stats-101/ This is another good guide on what all the stats are for.
