What to do at 50?

So, I own a pre-order account, I stopped playing in January, because of....I forget why. My Sniper was 36 I think. I resubbed two weeks ago out of curiosity, got into it, and got her to 50. Problem is, I'm not entirely sure what to do now. It's pretty obvious she's not very well geared, (mostly Voss commendation mods, I skipped most of Corellia because I was 50 already), I went to Ilum like the game suggested and got my rear handed to me over and over again.

I would be happy to join a guild and play Ops and FP's, but I haven't ever done it before. I also don't want to be forced to skip conversations, because that's still my favorite part of the game. I know that would frustrate people that have seen said conversations a hundred times, but hey, my turn? But, every guild I've come across that does Ops/FP's just laughs off a 'newbie 50' and skips right along. Seems most guild already have their 'teams' and that's that.

So I just rolled up an alt the other day, found myself in DK, found myself realizing I've done 90% of this already, and now am sort of at a loss on how to proceed with everything. Just play alts until I can't stand the repetitive planet quests? Keep wondering what Flashpoints I should even go to? Because I don't even know, as I said, out of the loop, not sure what order everything is run in. Use the group finder? PvP? (PvP'ing with my sniper wasn't fun before 50, I imagine it is twice as not fun at 50).

Yep totally lost over here. I guess I'll just do my space missions for an hour every day, stomach what I can on my alt, and see how long I can take it. I hear there are dailies, but in the spirit of the game not pointing any of them out to me, I'm not going to look them up. I shouldn't have to.

Gasp. You enjoyed Voss enough to play it but didn't play Corellia? I try to leave Voss as soon as possible to get to the much better story on Corellia. I don't even care if I am underleveled to do it too. Voss only served one good purpose for me. One night that planet cured my insomnia I had a while back.

Well, if I remember correct some of the Flashpoints like The False Emperor should give you some starter PvE gear. There's also the Black Hole Dailies you can do to get a decent income and Daily Commendations, Ilum, and Belsavis can also get you daily commendations which can also can you some nice Implants and other stuff, doing your Daily Hard Mode Flashpoints and the Black Hole Weekly can get you Black Hole commendations that can get you Black Hole gear, which is also pretty good gear. Use the group finder for all your Flashpoints and what not. You can even use it to look for a random Ops group, best of luck out there, it takes time to get good gear...but it's no fun when it's easy.

I don't know what server you're on, sorry to hear that you run into Guilds like that, we were all 'newbie 50s' at one point. :/

Edit: Also, sometimes the Dailies can become boring because it is a grind (I personally don't mind grinds), but if it gets tiring, just jump on another alt and enjoy the story! There's plenty of that to go around! :D

I'm not one for giving advice on what to do at 50, since I always start a new toon at that point, but I will say that you should definitely complete your class quests. There are some legacy things that you will get if you do so.

First, if you have not gone to Correlia go there. While your there you can do the Black Hole dailies, which you can get to from a shuttle just outside the Correlia Space Port. That will give you good money and start getting you Black Hole comms that you can use to buy awesome OPS ready gear on fleet.

Can I ask how you got your *** handed to you on Ilum? Was it pvpers?

By that point you would be ready gear wise to do hardmode flashpoints, which gear you up some more. Buy more Black Hole gear and your ready for OPS. Start on story mode Eternity Vault and Karraga''s Palace to get to know them and before you know it you will be ready for hard mode ops.

Thats when you move on to Explosive Confict story mode..... etc etc.

Guilds are like people, some are cool, some are annoying as hell. A good guild that is properly run holds onto players by actively trying to help them get gear, and teach them how to run instances. Just try out guilds till you find a good one. :D

Oh, and with making alts, dont make a new one that is the same class, ie 2 jedi Knights, as then the story will be very similar. Make a very different class and things do end up being fairly different, especially if you make it on the opposing faction! Playing a Sith after playing a Jedi is pretty darn different.

What to do at 50 as a Bounty Hunter is amazing. Create your own bounty office and get popular on your server so people come to you to kill them. If it's not in the game, make it yourself.

I am in the process of doing this. I am back after my break! Bounty Hunter is my main class now. :D

Jedi Consulars? Help people at 50, help them learn more about the force and how they can become better

Jedi Knights? Help the Republic through protecting on the frontlines, protecting other players

Smugglers? Set up your OWN smuggling routes. Imagination people! If people hate going to another planet to put something on the GTN, tell them you will do it for them.

Troopers? Guard anything and everthing on every planet. Go on patrols. Report back to other players.

Sith Inquisitors? Be the most evil supreme being on the server. Make everyone your pet in your head. Be epic, be amazing.

Sith Warriors? Go protect the sith empire from the pitiful Jedi. Keep striving to be better and more powerful. Of course hatred!!!!

Imperial Agents? Be the utmost loyal outstanding arrogant snobbish egotistical agent the galaxy has ever seen. Go around sniping republic players in the head because you are "better" ask people if they need services for you to sabotage things.

Stuff like that :)

Use your imaginations guys. That's what I do. You NEED to use your imagination :D

Also, find a guild. I have the most fun when I play with guildies and we take along fresh 50's all the time and if they wanna see cinematics fine, Ill watch it with them because even after 50x some are still awesome!

Playwise, all thats mentioned above. Also finish Corellia! Its pretty fun

Go to the pvp vendor on fleet and grab the MK starter gear quest and turn it in for some free lvl 50 gear and replace everything , this gear will keep you alive in hard mode flashpoints. I would strongly suggest completing your class story. If you can't beat the final boss then you need to practice killing elite mobs(the last story planet is alot of fun and trains you to use end-game tactics) . Then use group finder to start your HM flashpoints, let the group know its your first time running HMs and most people will give you tips on how to make it through. Pick up dailies at the quest gear vendor at your fleet and locate and complete Black-hole dallies on Corellia . In about one week (if your good at following direction and completing FPs ) you'll have replaced all the pvp gear and gained a basic knowledge on how the upper tir gear system works. Lots of content at 50, but you have to work at it. Edited by TheOne

I would normally suggest this, but with the linear maps and the lack RP abilities using your imagination is quite hard in this game.
