You should use the random option because you get Black Hole commendations once a day with it. After you have gotten some better gear you should get a guild if you don't have one and start doing Story Mode Operations, like Eternety Vault and Karagga's Palace. In the meantime you can do the dailies on Ilum, Belsavis and Corelia and that's pretty much it. After Story mode EV and KP do their hardmodes, then Explosive conflict, then EV and KP NIghtmare mode then EC Hardmode then Terror from beyond, then I guess EC Nightmare and finally TFB Hardmode. I think that's how it goes. Confused already? Also why do you want the orange version of the gear? It has no stats.
ShawnFish
Pretty much what the above posters said. Make sure you check the PvE mission terminal everyday to get the missions. There is one for a HM FP you can do everyday, and a weekly for 3 HM FP's. The weekly awards columi comm's, I forget how many, but it's a big boost when trying to purchase a specific item. If I remember right in False Emperor Malgus drops the Columi Mainhand weopon, so you could do that a couple times to get your drop. Other than that have fun. Oh yea, I'm not sure if you know this but by the speeder vendor there are a few quests for getting speeders. You have to do certain things like completeling all the HM FP's to get a certain speeder. It's pretty cool. I know I was happy the first time I drove around in my Aratech Ice Edited October 7, 2012 by ShawnFish Typo
Sonolor
Thx for the info all, This is info ware I can work with. What do you meen with no stats on the orange columi armor? No strengt en all? what is the function of the armor then with out stats? It is best looking of all 1 last question: What are the Sm (stands for soft mode????) Operations and ware can i get dailys or weeklys of them? Edited October 8, 2012 by Sonolor
haliy
There is no orange columi gear. Columi is purple. I believe what he means the "no stats" comment is that there are no set bonuses. The custom orange gear does not have any of these whereas the columi pieces do. For example (using Columi Combat Medic's Gauntlets) If you have 2 peices of this set, you would get this bonus: (2) Increases the duration of Supercharged Gas and Supercharge Cells by 3 seconds. if you have 4 pieces of this set, you would get the 2 peices bonus and this bonus: (4) Reduces the cooldown of Healing Scan or Advanced Medical Probe by 1.5 seconds and the cooldown of Emergency Scan or Bacta Infusion by 3 seconds. If you only have the custom orange gear, there would be no added bonuses. Only the stats of the mods you place inside of the armor. SM (Story Mode) operations can be picked threw group finder (KP & EV) and the dailys / weeklys for these can be found at the supply side of the fleet at the same terminal you would find the dailys / weekys for the HM flashpoints. Operations and ware can i get dailys or weeklys of them? Second try at this (accidentally closed my window before pressing reply ) Ok I now understand that by orange you are referring to the color of the armor piece. Now what I was referring to was the "quality" of an item or "rarity" if you will. If you look at an item's icon you will notice that it has a colored border. The color of that border defined it's quality. They go from lowest to highest like this: Trash, Standard, Premium, Prototype, Artifact and Legendary. Custom gear is special because it has the ability to be customized to whatever stats you wish using modifications. (Armoring, Hilt, Barrel, Mod, Enhancement and Augment) Then there's also Legacy items (light yellow, part of the Legacy system) and Mission items (needed to complete certain missions). So with that said, what I meant by Orange was the quality of the item. I thought that there was a Custom version of the Columi gear but there isn't so my mistake there. But I hope this clears the confusion. So you should definitely buy the orange colored Weaponmaster Columi gear that is of the Artifact Quality. And also SM stands for Story Mode. HM being Hard Mode. NM - Nightmare mode. EV - Eternity Vault, KP - Karagga's Palace, EC - Explosive Conflict (Also referred to as Denova), TFB - Terror from Beyond (also referred to as Asation). Roughneck
Most guild are using Headsets for communication and strategy sharing. if you do Story Mode Operations, do you them too? Or is it possible without them?
dosadnik
Most guild are using Headsets for communication and strategy sharing. if you do Story Mode Operations, do you them too? Or is it possible without them? Well it depends on the guild. Some of them absolutely require that you use Ventrilo or TeamSpeak or similar. Some more casual guilds don't really care. But even if you don't have a headset it's always recommended to at least be in the call and just listen while you type in chat. (Assuming said guild even uses a VOIP program ) At least you'll be able to hear what the Ops Leader has to say so yeah.
XaporKux
The best way to start hard mode flash points is grab the mission which drops the FREE recruit gear (I forget what it's called now) Just click the pvp terminal, then re-click to complete it. Head over to your pvp vender (obviously depending on your class) and collect your shiny new Lvl 50 blue recruit gear, MK 2. From there you should be OK to do most, if not all the hard mode flash points. From there you can gear up through boss drops, weekly, and dailys. I picked up my first bit of Col gear just today the rest of my gear is Black Hole and TIo gear, bit of a mix bag really. It'll do until I get my full set of Col gear. See you in there Edited October 9, 2012 by XaporKux

Note: Xapor, you do know that Black Hole is better than Columi right? Yeah I know. I only have a BH belt. When I manage to get enough BH comms I'll replace the Columi gear. Im not planning on doing any T2 stuff yet so no rush.
