Skoobie
Unfortunatly, AMD doesn't really have a cpu that comes close to the i7. (I haven't seen many benchmarks of the new AMD release tho). The AMD FX-8150 comes in right around the i5 mark. Here's a benchmark comparison sheet. As you can see, Intel dominates. http://www.cpubenchmark.net/high_end_cpus.html Edited October 8, 2012 by Skoobie
Bigrayne
This website is good for building a PC for those who don't wish to do much research. http://www.ibuypower.com/lobby.aspx
WarbNull
I am not go into comparisons. There are a lot out there already. I will offer some suggestions though. If you are going to go AMD then I first suggest making sure you get an AM3+ mobo so you can upgrade later. CPU wise I personally would suggest a FX8150. It is quite good. I know as I own it and it is what I game on right now. I also own a Phenom II 1100T Black and it is a little under the FX8150 performance for games in Windows 7. The FX series is rumored to work better in Windows 8 but I personally have not tested that. I would suggest the Phenom II 1100T Balck as well but a few of the stores I shop from no longer have it as they stopped making the CPU and the stores are running out. You should still be able to find them though somewhere. If you can it could be a option for you that may save a little money until you decide to upgrade when the new AMD CPU's come out. Performance wise they are still good CPU's. You could also look at the FX8120. Its a little slower than the FX8150 but still quite good. Really the FX series is your best bet for AMD. lorddakar
Well thanks for the suggestions I was only looking at AMD because of cost wise really. I already have a wish list for an intel make on newegg but If I could save a few bucks might as well try.
