Rage Jug or Rage mara?

Juggernauts can build stacks of shock wave more reliably to initiate combat with enrage than maras can with berserk. Also the talents from immortal and vengeance fit better with rage and certain abilities like force push (which resets force charge) are also wonderful as rage spec.

Jugs are by far the best class to play in game, totally my favorite.[i have 3 lvl50 jugs].

 

 

When you fight against any class, it will always be a coin flip...the person with more available cooldowns will succeed...regardless what they are. remember that.

 

 

Honestly, the trend I've seen is jugs are using hybrids more, and the marauders are speccing rage, lol.

 

 

Ultimately----Shi-Cho stance is deathstance: dps destroys enemies, but as a jug, you die waay to fast, as a marauder you live longer.

 

 

Take into account the lack of force push/intercede, and scale that with bloodthirst/force camo/undying rage....you will then find your own answers.

 

I'm currently leveling a marauder. I'll post my thoughts/info once I pvp at 50 bracket. But I tell ya marauder already feels different at low levels. I think like a jug.

Just as a word of caution - if you're going to level it up just to play rage spec, be aware that they may nerf rage heavily at some point, as there's a pretty large outcry about it right now. Or they may not.

 

I would choose between the two classes based on how you like the other specs, honestly - since both have rage, just think to yourself if you'd rather be able to play as a tank sometimes or get more DPS options.

^ This! Juggernaut trees fit Rage a lot better and they flow. You can easily initiate combat with a fully loaded Smash instead of having to build up Fury as a Marauder. The best Rage/Focus spec that I see consistently are Juggs, albeit the performance difference is almost negligible.

Im on Jedi Covenant, Darth Persies, and I generally put up 300-400k damage minimum but I am generally one of the higher damage rage juggs I've seen on my server. I honestly don't think rage will get nerfed that heavily since it is now in line with carnage maras and pyro PTs, making juggs on par with other melee dps. The thing that makes me think rage juggs won't get nerfed in the immediate future is that it honestly takes a while to really know how to play a rage jugg and people who were immortal/vengeance/carnage/annih before 1.4 and are switching over just aren't very good at rage. My jugg has always been rage spec, through the highs and lows, and there is a huge difference between someone who knows the tree inside and out and someone who just switched over because its a new fotm. Another thing to consider is who you pvp with. If you largely pug, rage juggs can honestly be like glass cannons. Albeit I usually still get my 300k medal even in a pug but when I'm in a premade my damage skyrockets. On the other hand maras have more defensive cds than juggs that let them be a little better for solo queuing in pvp but their damage doesn't have such a dramatic increase in a premade as with juggs. Just my two cents and my experience. Hope you enjoy playing a warrior regardless of which AC you pick!

i actually have a 50 Jugg and a 50 Mara now :D and for some reason i find the Marauder subclass to be very boring (marauders please don't bite me head of :o ) Its nice to have all these defensive cooldowns especially when you can just charge into a group do a smash and just vanish and run away. But something just did not feel right to me. As a Jugg first of all just because of forcepush it wins for me hands down! I cant play a class that doesn't have any real CC in PvP. I always loved the feeling of the warrior class in WoW because you could control a group of enemy players around you with slow, fear etc. With a Jugg you can stun (yea i know the mara does this also) but you can also slow everybody around you and and and reduce there damage for 30% for a few sec!

 

It does tale a bit longer to learn the Marauder subclass because of the many many spells, but i think i got very decent at it (if i do say so myself). got like 30 key bindings or something :eek:

 

I checked the other talent tree's and the bonuses you get from stances etc, if everything is as i think then Smash should hit for much higher numbers with your Jugg. In the end i just wanna see as big of a number on my sceen as possible :D:D

 

Anyway im having a lot of fun with this class and sometimes i'm the single reason we win a WZ, witch hardly happens when i play a mara.

It's not that Marauders are boring, it's that they got the shaft -big time.

 

Juggs can make a DPS that can come close to a Marauder, but Marauders could NEVER make a Tank that compares to a Jugg. Just one of the MANY imbalances of this game, unfortunately.

 

When it comes to Warrior, the Jugg is the "Favorite Son" while the Marauder is the "Red-Headed Stepchild".
