Random group got into Koan HM and first we discovered that the cannon event is a LOT harder than it used to be. We knew that the ledge had been blocked so we all stayed on the ground. We tried several strategies and wiped every time. Now I have done that event a LOT pre-1.4 and the mobs were NEVER that hard to kill. I even did that event with everyone on the ground a number of times pre-1.4 and NEVER had that much trouble (at worst one person died at the very end) Anyway, we eventually decided to leave the instance AS A GROUP and queue for a different instance. Once everyone was out of the instance we were unable to reset phases and requeue. So we disbanded the group and reformed. However the group leader accidentally queued us for LI HM. NO ONE was interested in doing that so we all left the instance and tried to re-queue, we were unable to "reset all phases" and queue for another instance. So we had to disband again, and we ALL got locked out of the queue because we left. If you are going to have a "quitters" lockout then you NEED to give the GROUP the chance to abandon a FP that is found to be too difficult for whatever reason. Another thing I noticed is shooting some of the "gold" mobs they seemed to not take damage and soak up the shots,we had everyone stack away from the cannon to make up for how the cannon was working. One thing is to NOT skip the set of mobs that most people skip because they will pull during the event and that makes it harder. And I've always done it on the ground, in the little circle behind the turret, and everyone stays there because that's where I put my aoe heals. Did it lots of times pre 1.4 and since and it's really just not that hard. Pain in the keister, yes, because I think it goes on waaaay too long, but there shouldn't be any problem with it. You then leave because you don't want to waste time waiting for five replacements to show up and you still get locked out of the group finder for leaving a group in progress. Petnil Posted October 7, 2012 Share Posted October 7, 2012 1. Kill all nearby mobs before you start the even(ofc) 2. Put a dps in the cannon. I know many group up behind the cannon, but personly i like to stand in front of the cannon. That way the canon shooter can easily pull agro of me and hit incoming mobs. The tank should be free to pick up that exploding dude and pull him away from group. The important thing is dps taking the cannon imo.
