MindgameZ
Hello All... given the changes to the kinetic Combat / Darkness tree i felt my hybrid 23 / 1 / 17 build became useless as kinetic relayed even more on shielding attacks to proc self heals / Force re-gen so i spent 1 week coming up with this . http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#601bIbszMskrZZf0cRd.2 At first sight this biuld might seem strange but there is a method to the madness... pre 1.4 shadows "elusiveness" ability gave us a 10 second Reduced CD on force speed making it useful in all maps to be sturdy yet mobile at the same time , but in 1.4 is now is chained to "double bladed saber defense" and has a new function , Increasing force re-gen of your saber defense. Given that most people roll with a focus and not a shield this talent becomes nearly useless for Dps hybrids as tech / force ( which all classes have) bypass your Shield / Defense rate. SO instead i picked up expertise which increases our stance effects ( does not add on to the damage of abilitys). Once again i did not pick up impact control as many of the damage you take are autocrits / Yellow damage. Now to the balance half..... Now force synergy is just to good to pass up so i took that. Force Focus and jedi resistance depend mostly on your playstyle... if you want to go all out dps.. take force focus. if you want to maintain a tank feel take jedi resistance. the rest is pretty standard. GEAR SETUP : depending on if you are going to be dpsing or tanking gear depends alot but i like to go with Full DPS gear if im dpsing and taking Force Synergy in balance tree , and if im tanking ill go with slightly more tank gear but always remaining within a 200 Lead with my Willpower to retain my dps. With both biulds i use a Custom Shield fitted with Focus armorments just to give me a chance to clean up non-crit white damage people throw at me as well as to remain dps focused as well.. I will be adding on to this post as i find more combos but i would love to hear you guys's feedback on hybrid builds in 1.4.

Ibiza-Vin
By all means.. Explain how lulz... 1. You need 2 points in the reduced cost for Death Field (FiB) since you're going to be using it on cooldown. Otherwise, your force management is going to take a big hit. 2. The talent that increases the damage of dark charge is not worth taking...its an increase of maybe 20 dmg every time dark charge ticks. 3. Same thing with the talent that increases the chance of your charge proccing. Dark Charge already has a 50% chance on a 4.5s internal cooldown....no reason to increase that. 4. As for DBSD and its follow up talent, the extra force regen is in fact worth it. Even when running with a focus, sins have a 16% defense. In addition, whenever you pop deflection you get some really nice force regen and at the same time reduce the active cooldown of force shroud for every parry. Maybe not the greatest talents, but definitely better than the increased dmg and proc % on dark charge. 5. You should get the 10% heal on overcharge saber. 10% might not seem like a lot, but in clutch moments that extra health could keep you out of execute range and save your life. I suppose most of these could all come down to playstyle, but you still definitely need 2 points in the cost reduction of Death Field in order to have very strong AoE AND single target damage. Also, how is 23/1/17 now useless? You can't maul as often, sure. But its damage was buffed and instant whirlwind is still amazing. Especially considering that since electrocute was nerfed, whirlwind is one of like 3 long range abilities available to us.

Order-Sixty-Six
Been running 27 0 14 forever, the spec in my sig is better. 9% additional damage on combat technique damage is USELESS, it hits like 200 damage on occasion so you're hitting 30 more damage per combat technique proc which is useless compared to the force regen and resilience cooldown reduction when you pop deflection. 2 points on impact control is also beneficial for an emergency heal in a close solo fight. Capt_Beers
I see where you are going with this although I still think the 23/1/17 is perfectly fine. - Elusiveness is still useful. Powertechs are especially good at finishing the CD on Resilience when they spam Rapid Shots. - I didn't spec Impact Control for the absorb buff I did it for the heal. - As far as speccing for Force Focus as a hybrid that would be terrible. You would have to use Force Tech. to use it. which means you're not using Combat Tech. so no increased armor, self heals, or Particle Acceleration.
