Helzing
I've been doing a little bit of research on new computers lately in the hopes of upgrading my current computer that's completely outdated. What I've pulled out of the research I've done, is that Alienware is not the way to go due to them overcharging for literally just a logo on their computer and that CyberPower is a good alternative but me not being tech-savvy, CyberPower's website kind of confuses me and I'm not entirely sure what some parts of a computer do to help the performance. So, what I'm asking is, what type of computer should I buy? I've looked at the XPS 8500, the Alienware X51, CyberPower Black Pearl, and some others. I'm looking to get some good FPS, a good amount of RAM, a nice graphics card, etc. I want to be able to run SWTOR with no lag, great FPS, and on max graphics settings. Tim-ONeil
How confident are you with putting parts together? If you are willing to do that, you can have a top of the line PC for about 1000-1500 depending on how much you want to spend on your graphics card. Certainly 800-1000 will buy decent performance with the caveat that you will have to assemble it yourself. There are lots of guides on the internet to help you in doing so and there's a huge sense of accomplishment as well. One day back in 2004 I decided to build my own system. After doing that I realized that there's a decent market for that and started my own side business of making custom PC's. My time constraints at work forced me out but the building is very simple. Each part has a specific slot. Edited October 4, 2012 by Tim-ONeil

If you go to the Cyberpower forums there are many people that will help you with a build. Just tell them what you want to spend and what it will be used for. Hope this helps. itsmymillertime
Minimum: i5-2500k 8 gb ram nvidia gtx 560ti lots of cyberpower pcs have good processors but lack in the graphics card department. their website offers mega special 3, which i would leave alone but switch out the 7750 and put in a 560ti, it is an upgrade for 110 bucks. Each part has a specific slot. I've never really built my own computer, so I'm not really confident in building my own. But I'm on the CyberPower forums right now looking for opinions on the build I'm looking for. But thanks for your advice and assistance.

Mayeh
I got my current machine through iBuypower.com and am quite happy with it. It arrived with a DOA video card (1 of 2) but they replaced it with no hassle. I can run this game on max settings.
