FlippinFlapJack
I have a companion that has a +2 critical for diplomacy. When he its a crit, it brings a smile to my face. Since I like smiling, I want to do it more often. This companion still has the same gear on as the day he became my companion. My question is; if I gear him up and get his critical chance up, will this increase the odds that he hits a crit on a diplomacy mission or is it just a straight roll with a +2? BlameSociety
The gear doesn't have an influence on crew skill missions. Their affection towards you does, however.
FlippinFlapJack
The gear doesn't have an influence on crew skill missions. Their affection towards you does, however. Affection makes them run the mission faster, does it increase their critical chance on the mission?
Khevar
Affection does increase the critical chance. http://www.swtor.com/blog/community-qa-april-27th-2012 (about halfway down the page) Full affection (10,000) adds a +5% chance for a critical. JacksonMo
The only gear that effects companion missions is the droid sensor you can buy for your ship droid. It comes from the legacy vendor you can unlock on you legacy window. He sells several droid parts that are legacy bound that each give different crew skill bonuses. If you can't afford the legacy unlock for the ship vendor, you can group with a friend who has it, and use the droid on his ship.
