Size of Makeb (map)?

How big it will be, you think? Considering that it will be a paid expansion , and will involve lv cap, new abilities and class stories, I'd expect the map of Makeb to be somewhat of the size of Northrend. Such size would allow to add new adventures and completely new mechanics that would last for a good while longer than if they were introduced on Makeb, which would be similar in size to the current planets.

When was confirmed Makeb would be paid? They said 2 things concerning it: At first, they said it would come out before F2P, then second they said that it is unsure if it will be a paid mini-expansion or not.

Not once was it actually confirmed to be paid, nor how much it would cost.

Would I use $5,- worth of Cartel Coins to buy 5 new levels and a whole new planet? Possibly.. but nobody knows if it will be paid yet as far as I know.

like the half size of tython for example... hehehehehehehe kidding. All 50s gathered up in a small rock... space comet..

I would suggest them also to trig more events in the existing ones.. no only 1 new planet... thats not very interesting on its own...

Tatooine is endless sand... A huge huge stadium for events would be nice..

All planets like nar shadaa, courasant, hoth, etc.. to get a an extra area for missions...

stop having wet dreams about the future and enjoy the game with the current features.

It's a sign of this generation to want the next smartphone, the next new car now now now.

And sometimes you're disappointed because what you imagined you'll get is not what is actually delivered.

Please enjoy what you have now.

You'll have a happier life.

...and will involve lv cap, new abilities and class stories

I worry about the lack of clear info from BW regarding this important subject.

When asked specifically if there would be an expansion to class stories in Makeb, BW have been vague in every interview. They have said that the story will continue but that sounds an awful lot like the galactic story (Imperials/Republic post Black Hole). It doesn't sound like Chapter 4 of our class stories will be in Makeb. Go check out every interview recently and they all avoid saying 'class story' despite the interviewer often asking that very specific question. The reply is always 'your story' or 'the story' that will continue in Makeb.

TL;DR Don't get your hopes up about Chapter 4,5 or 6 being included in Makeb.

well if its a single planet and just 5 levels.. Its hard to get lots of money from it (?) Except if its an expansion that adds new features, events in the entire world..

They told me that makeb expansion will give also 5 levels as an extra, they could avoid MAKEB and give this 5 levels to Ilum... Makeb doesnt sound such a big deal, they could delay it, so they can give it us more advanced and with more features?... dont know... well thats my opinion.. We love leveling up... just 5 levels? 1 day job

But maybe makeb is a clever way, of swtor feature + f2p... Meaning, small expansions with small prices, that can give income and things to do, to the f2p players.. dont u think... Because if the expansion is MAJOR... it needs lots of time to built it and the price gets higher... And they surelly loose money for the services they give, as they give us F2P... They could split it in many parts for more income.

I think the TOR team is scared of emptiness. Everywhere there has to be story, buldings, roads. That is why we can´t run out into the empty desert in Tattooine but die in an exhaustion zone instead. Limiting freedom is never a good idea.

I wish they would look into procedural generated planets and space

for ground, check out how Fuel did it

paid expansion? It's supposed to be free to all of us with a subscription. You only have to buy it if you're joining the F2P crew, and then you already know ALL endgame content is pay per item.

The rumor is around the fact they dropped a comment about it potentially being "Paid" content. It appeared that meant for Sub's as well. Couple threads in the forums about it, but like most information its vague.

Suggest: BW not make such a bone headed move. As a long term SUB I'd be pretty pissed off about that.

You know Bioware, I think Makeb is merely half of the REAL story. They just needed to tease us with a little marketing.

Look they are working on expansion content since day 1 of release, perhaps earlier. There will be much, MUCH more than just Makeb.. I think it will be together with a gigantic space expansion. There are like, what, 300-400 people working on TOR? I wouldn´t be surprised if Makeb is as big as the former planets all together.

I´d happily pay for that.

Further reasons for my "I think there is a huge expansion coming" feeling is... F2P.

They can´t seriously think people would just sub for unlimited warzones and operations. They give away the "old" content for free, and introduce a gigaton of new content for subscribers at the same time. -> expansion announcement on the date of F2P switch.

All speculation but let´s see if I´m right.. I hope I am...

My guess...smaller than you'd like.

People tend to have VERY unrealistic expectations about things Bioware plans. They (Bioware) are guilty of over-hyping MANY things...but the fans carry it to the extremes (SSSP is the other). Expect a tiny box. Expect a couple rooms. That way, you'll likely not be disappointed.

I only expect the very best from Bioware.. not more, not less.

Also J.O. always hinted "tons of new content and updates for 2012" in the pipeline, since we didn´t see tons of content yet, we´ll see it some day, maybe sooner than later.

An operation, a warzone and some nightmare modes are not tons of content.

HK51 companion is not tons of content.

2012 is not over yet!

That's unrealistic already. Bioware is now EA. The company producing this game is Bioware Austin, not even an actual "Bioware" company. Expect LESS. F2P games trickle content - it's easier to sell and makes them more $.

so you are calling J.O. a liar?

Or do you think EA cancelled all plans and decided to abandon their investment instead of fixing/expanding the game so it appeals to a broader audience?

Sorry but do you think EA is... dumb? Or just evil? Or even worse, evil AND dumb?

^^^ I was under this assumption too. I seem to recall that BW said that subs get the stuff free and F2P have to pay or get a sub.

Wow! Those are all YOUR words, not mine. I never said anything you've written and if you reply to me again with such blatant lies, I'll report you. I said your expectations are too high and they'll never be met. Lower them.
