Atim
Good to see a positive thread. All the teeth gnashing, anger, and complaining is why I don't post much. I really don't see where it's really all that bad. Not perfect, but it's less than a year old and I've experienced far worse "first year's" than this one. If we hit the 1.5 - 2 year mark and next to nothing has been added or improved (like another sci-fi MMO) then I would totally understand the irritation. Anyway, I'm with others in that the story focus is probably why I love TOR; the fact that it takes place during the Old Republic era is a major plus. I loved KOTOR I and II not just for the good story telling and fun gameplay, but also that it was a fresh take on the SW mythos. No Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, the droids, Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire, etc. That stuff had all been done so much, KOTOR was a nice change of pace. The addition of TOR was even better because where part one and two end after a few hours, TOR keeps going. Even if you complete all the content now, there will be even more content over the next few months; hopefully for years to come.

Khevar
I like the stories and the combat mechanics. I'm on my 9th alt and I've been picking different advance classes and builds to try them out. Recently I bought Torchlight II and while it is fun, the combat is so simple I started yearning for my gunslinger.
Kyriosgundam
I'm a dedicated MMO gamer, having played Dungeons and Dragons Online, World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 1 & 2, and even non-traditional MMOs such as Age of Empires Online and Need for Speed World. That said, I've been playing SWTOR since beta, and TOR is, hands down, the most fun I've ever had playing an MMO. The leveling process is second to none. Storytelling in TOR is handled in an expert Bioware fashion, involving decisions with consequences, characters that are easy to fall in love with or hate due to pristine voice acting, and the provision of solo-environments that allow these sequences to become extremely atmospheric. The community is also incredibly friendly. In World of Warcraft, chat is reserved for loot disputes and spamming other players with reasons why they should stop playing their class. In SWTOR, even in random groups players I've met have focused on building each other up - even fighting for responsibility for a wipe rather than blaming it on someone else. On our server (Jung Ma), players have gone out of their way to supply low-level characters with gear; organized server-wide events involving multiple guilds in cinematic RP, and generally been ready to offer new or clueless players everything needed to have fun and be successful. I agree I do wish the servers I have been on had people who do what this post author discribes when it comes to gear. However I do love the fact that when I ask for help people are willing to give that help to me reguardless of if its just an answer to a question or helping me finish up either heroics, class, or other side missions, or helping me find Datacrons. Also this is the first MMO since FFXI that has challenged me and have actually enjoyed playing in any way and its been a longtime coming. The character Stories are also what I like about TOR, plus having the combat system the way it is forces people to actually think before entering a fight reguardless of that fight being PVP or PVE. CNS_Sarajevo
The flexibility to play Republic and Imperial as either Light or Dark side. I know a guy who played a Dark Side Jedi, and meanwhile I've been playing a Light Side Sith. And it works! The voice acting and writing are utterly immersive. I especially like that the companions have flaws and twists, and so does your own story. Finally: the Imperial Agent storyline. THANK YOU, BIOWARE!!!! BalthazaarSix
I took a break from the game for about 3 months...played AoC again...still love that game but I'm a little bored with swords and daggers. Tried TSW...not even going to go there. Came back, and I love it more now than I did in early access. My high points are Sith Warrior story, Agent story, Darkside Jedi's, and killing Jawa's! Love this game!!!
RichT
Well of course, it's Star Wars...this gives a huge boost right off the bat. Exploring the worlds we've seen in films and other sources. Having played the KotOR games again and again and again, I wanted more from this time period. I love the Companion system. No more getting to a quest area, only to realize you didnt dump the garbage from your bags before setting out and having to turn back to sell it. I like being able to gear them up, and some of them like Qyzen and Khem are just super cool have around honestly. I really enjoy the story driven, cinematic questing. i dont think I could play another "read and accept quest" type of game after this. I've gotten really spoiled by this approach. And am looking forward to playing all 8 classes, and their stories. I grew up playing single player RPG's and Sci Fi...Star Wars being a big part...so this game has delivered alot to a gamer like myself. The game isn't perfect, and doesnt include everything I would want(Races and Customizations being one large knock I have. 4 body styles? Oooof Still wish we had something between normal human, and hulk hogan)...but I find it to be so much of what i was looking for that I am happy to accept the up, downs and wait for new content and the occasional needed fixes. (Like TwiLek hoods! Cmon, my TwiLek sorc in beta had a hood. Sure his Leku hung out in the back, oike arms from a shirt...but it looked good to me. I'm having a real hard time wanting to play my little Jedi knight, because of this issue...but am hesitant to reroll, thinking the fix has to be coming.)
